The Reel of Life

Life is one fascinating movie,
Whose cast love in a world,
Created by the imagination of splendor,
Beauty of power,
And the sweetness of success.
But at each scene of the movie,
Lies a minute des position,
Of a dream forgotten,
Of a vision unfulfilled,
Of a dream unrealized.
As the reel of life rolls on,
So are fates and destinies reached,
Some so beautiful,
Others so painful,
The melancholy of life.
It is so unfortunate,
That the movie is shot without practice,
The cast with hardly an idea of the script,
Unfold the drama,
Mostly with incorrigible errors,
And at the end,
It's a Bravo to one,
And a lash of regret to another,
The reel of life.

My Heartstrings

I had her shoe in hand
Her fragrance hesitant to leave the room
The clock had struck midnight
And my Cinderella left my heart
Leaving me clinging to the memories I had of her

See, she came with the promise to love
One of a kind, pure like a dove
But all she did was dance and make merry
For by midnight she had to hurry

As fast as she came, she left
In anguish i cried out loud and wept
The chord on my heart strings
Turned from a ballard to a dirge
And each pluck of the string took me back to my oblivion
Where love was a distant past and an improbale future

My Love

Come with me my love,
Come with me to the cove,
Where we'll watch the moon,
And fear not separating soon.

Come into my heart,
And flee from every plight,
Delve into the depths of trust,
Where you'll never rust.

Lay on my chest,
There you'll build a nest,
Our brood to house,
Safe from any louse.

Cry upon my shoulder,
T'll be there, your holder,
Put a smile on your face,
T'll take away the distress.

And honey, with this rose,
I do propose,
That we walk down the aisle,
To a life by the spice isle.

Love On Our Ship

On this ship we sail,
You and I is no fairy tale,
The tide keeps changing,
The winds keep raging,
Ice bergs and boulders,
Dark nights across borders.
But you and I at the helm,
To our paradise we'll aim'
Through the stormy weather,
This ship will weather,
Anchor we'll set on a land vast with no measure,
And on it, empty our chests full of treasure.

Firm Ground

I will be your ground
Supporting you in every way
I will be the shoulder you lean on.
Even as you pray

Your dream will be my dream.
I will support your every step.
Your happiness will be my happiness.
However, your spirit must be prepped.

You will never have to worry.
My ground is solid as a rock.
It shall be your firm foundation.
And your dreams, it will unlock.

A Father's Call

I got a call from a not so stranger
He said, for me he was born in a manger
Treated with spite and hate
Just so am saved from my ill fate
Hung on a tree for birds to feed
The same kind of tree his father met his need
Spat on, beaten, bruised and abused
This he said was for me not to be used.
He told me of His compassion
His unending love and heart full of passion
To see me redeemed
From a fate to which I was doomed
He reminded me of His concern
Even when I seemed not to learn
From my past mistakes and failures
And each I time get into a snare
In my ear he whispered
'Son' is what I deciphered
The voice of a father calling His own
Telling me to go back home.

Of Broken Pieces

Cold, dark, void,
Rid of all things enjoyed,
Is this place no longer my own,
In shambles, desolate and torn.
Once an expanse of green,
Now a wasteland so grim.
Sewers with filth running,
Garbage and rot piling.
From afar the stench,
Hands on mouth I clench.
Nausea crushing so fast,
Muscles tense, not long to last.
Upwards like a searing flame,
Chars away leaves me lame.
Bending over gushing out,
Can hold no longer, tapping out.

Goodbye 'Friend'

When am all alone
Feeling so lost
People I called friends
Too late to realise they weren't
People I could trust and confide,
People I could talk to,
And with then, my mind share,
So long has it been,
To far has it come,
Their ways to make mine,
And mine not theirs,
An incarnation of a different person...
But, I am me,
Tall and proud,
With no one to drag around,
Yes, mistakes are inevitable,
But when one is swollen with pride,
Too much that they don't realise it's a nuisance,
Does this whole thing become so distant,
And the once cordial relationship crumbles.
My friends accept me for who I am,
What I am,
And what I stand for,
And not anytime soon am I about to change.
Sorry for the broken link,
You ain't got nothing on me,
And I gotta go my own way.

At the End of the Tunnel

There are times when we wished to bid our pain goodbye,
Times we wished to mop dry our tears,
Times we wanted to overcome our fears,
Times we hoped to live our dreams,
More than once did we hope for fantastic times,
But alas!
Life gave the lemons and demons,
Bile from vile plants,
And beds riddled with nestles and bristles,
And food spewing with worms and flies,
But again,
At the end of the tunnel,
Is a shimmer of light,
That offers hope for a new sight.
