Abdulkareem Ayodeji Abeeb Poem
She was a friend,
In many more ways than a man could be:
Just last night,
She held me high up in her arms
And together we watched the sailing stars.
And this morning,
Teasingly, she waved at me in the wind
And I embraced her with the greed of a lover.
But when I returned,
In the hot hours of the day today
Only earth remained where she once stood;
She had to go I was told
To make room for a parking space.

Abdulkareem Ayodeji Abeeb Poem
Outback,a
new
birth
I
hear
songs
to
celebrate.
Another
soul
Blessed
with
the
gift
of
life
A
new
pair
of
eyes
To
marvel
at
the
world's
wonders.
Only
the
wise
can
tell
That
every
birth
Is
just
the
cradle
of
a
death
So
it
is
yet
another
clock
Ticking
down
in
countdown.
Yes,the
world
is
as
vast
as
the
seas
And
so
are
its
promises
But
time
is
just
the
distance
From
your
neck
to
your
shoulder.
So
friend,
You'll
live
and
leave
in
haste
Haunted
by
the
end
you
can
not
see
Allowed
to
dream
but
not
to
live
To
live
but
not
to
dream
