Butterflies

Butterflies

I sent her an email with butterflies attached, I was hoping she'd open it, her heart would I snatch.
It was ten past four when she read it-after quite a very long day.
They flew out at once with one click of that mouse,
So many included they filled her whole house.
Next, I decided to send her- a very large enveloped batched-
with seeds from deep in my garden-where lies all the weeds and piles of thatch.
She went to her mailbox and saw it was from me,
a smile she flashed, just as quick as could be.
She hurriedly ripped it open
to see just what was inside, she spilled out all of its contents
she poured it out in her hands,
as those butterflies flew -and filled up the whole sky.
Now I gave her a bottle- a message inside-
"now that I've finally found you, please no longer hide"
"I thought of You, quite often, as my life-it has passed. "I felt all my breath leave me- all in one single gasp.
"I - so long ago-just was not the right guy. I lacked life and the smarts to give- my best try."

"I've found you again, lost you- so long ago.
I've learned all my lessons, Please give me a go."
I understand about love hurting you so..
I'm no longer the guy from so long ago...
I know your untrusting and you've a hard row to hoe..
I know that around you ...some speed bumps may grow.
But I work with strong hands and I'll pull you in tow.
I wait for return mail...be it in letter or post...i can promise you one thing..I wait your response.
I wait and I watch as my mail person walks by..
..I await just a message or email or such.
I can't stand here guessing for my time left is short.
I wait for a signal..a sign of some sort...
without it I'm clueless, So i wait your report....
I wait everyday- to check through my mail. I watch- on this screen-till my older eyes start to fail.
And -look to the sky -where the butterflies hail.
Yes, my dear I still wait.....

This is for someone old- someone new -someone needed- someone wanted-
Someone Special...Be Special
You know who you are.
Crazy still

300 Seconds

A lot can be done in just 5 minutes
Cause really 5 minutes is 300 seconds
And 300 seconds sounds like so much more
More time to do things and undo the bore
Time for a call to make someone smile
A smile that can go for miles and miles
Or even an email just to say
Hey, I’m really thinking about you today
How many kisses do you think one could get
In 300 seconds, A lot I would bet
Enough to make the week go by
Until the next time you see your guy
So never think 5 minutes isn’t enough
Cause in 300 seconds you’d miss too much stuff

Picture Looking Back

Ever look at a picture and see it looking back?
It's a very unique feeling and words I did lack.
I would joke and play when I felt him around,
Nothing scary at all, actually helpful, I found.
He would fill up the sink to soak the pans,
And run the dishwasher to give me a hand.
Then one night while working alone,
I looked at his picture, to him he was home.
The closer I look at the picture, I see
He died here on campus, only 16, he'd be.
I will never forget that feeling I had
Knowing I could see him, I think he was glad.

Way Back When

An old, new friend from way back when.
You know, someone you hug and say how have you been?
He says ok, how about you.
You say, that’s great, same here too.
You can see in his eyes, things aren’t quite right.
His eyes were saying, remember that night?
He says, I’ve thought of you often, ok not every day,
Thought you could be the one that got away.

Then one day, on Facebook he sees,
A name with a face, could it be?
It is, it’s her, from way back when.
Do I dare put myself out there again?
Yes, I’m going to, I’ve got to try.
I’ve got to see if she has a guy.
Cause if she doesn’t, I start my plan.
My plan, to somehow, become her man.

I type in hello and hold my breath.
Oh my gosh, I’m scared to death.
What if she doesn’t say hello back,
What if she doesn’t remember me from Jack.
But, no, she says hey, what’s happening?
I say, not much, been doing some travelling.
And there marks the day my new life begins.
If all goes well, maybe we’ll both win.

My Heart

You pull me in with the look in your eyes.
Whenever you're near, I feel so alive.
And when we touch, my heart beats so fast.
But I know in my heart that we're not going to last.
You have obligations, but I don't understand.
As I know when we touch, you feel just as grand.
You say that you love me, but how could that be.
Weeks go by, and you, I don't see.
You can't take the time from your everyday life,
Which really is sad as you just could be
The one that puts the spark back in me.
If the day should arrive when you're ready for more,
My heart will be waiting, as it's already yours.
