Merely Female

Hushed by the stares
The moves, the everything
For in your eyes
Feeble and frail
Are synonyms
Of female

This silence is everywhere
In relationships, busy streets
Corporate realms and cowering in the dark
If only they knew the epicness
Deep within her heart

Humility preserved always
Glides clandestinely thru the noise
Lest they glance her shadow
And mistake it for her voice
Anxiety bubbles, bemoaning, bottled
A certain subtle potential overwhelming kapow!
But hushed by the stares
The daily humans who say no

Are her heart and mind worth naught?
In this bullying world
Too busy shouting and staring
To even recognize her
Much more listen to her thoughts?

Must she continue pacing this life?
God forbid she should rise
Be hushed and muted
Unsung to this realm
Fragile and frail
Lest we forget
She is merely female.

Kiss

What’s in a kiss?
It’s not the stuff found in happy pills
I doubt GlaxoSmithkline can replicate this one
It’s the essence
It’s the ultimate good
It’s the feeling you’d get
Knowing you can jump off a building
And fall gently to the ground like a feather
On a gold silken pillow
It’s the power to melt the metal cold heart of the devil
Down to liquid oil
Infused with the sweetest fragrance of love, passion
What’s in my kiss is oneness
With the creator,
With the universe
Reminiscent of angels on clouds playing tunes divine
My kiss gives you the power to hold stars in the palm of your hands
I’ll kiss any tears you may have in mind
And you’ll experience sadness no more
For you, I’ll kiss the clouds on rainy days
And bring you endless sunshine
My kiss brings the power to touch and feel what is abstract
I captured the beautiful turquoise of the ocean
The gentle mist and breeze under warm sunshine
The melodic chirp of birds and dew drops from lush tropical flowers
And used these to punctuate
And complete the experience of what lies in my kiss
In my kiss lies my soul
My inner being
 My thoughts unfold
As pure silken cloth
And comforts
Guarantees
That the reason behind this kiss is forever
And the ultimate aim is to capture the essence
You’ll have no questions of my feelings
Because you’ll know
You’ll feel
You speak, hear, breathe and be
You’ll know that when i gently pull you close to me
and gaze feverishly into your eyes
my fingers trace the contours of your face and our lips meet,
our lives will never be the same
our lives will become one
our lives will become the essence
All this and more is what is in my kiss.

He Stops My Heart

He walked into my life and into my heart and marked his territory
And I had no options, no choice but just to accept
That somewhere out there
Under my nose existed someone
Who would care enough
To make me smile
Laugh my heart into a knot and soothe my soul
Put me to sleep by simply saying the word “sleep”
Sweep me off my feet literally
Have me gasping in amazement
Pleasant surprises
He wasn’t joking
Trips at night, back and forth and back again
I reflect and it moves me to tears
He stops my heart
He puts the smile on my face
When I have really bad days
When I’m really upset and the world is about to turn upside down
His voice, his presence, his anything and everything makes it all okay
Little did I know that my idle talk of “lets run off together” when I was stressed some years ago would mean oohs and aahs and wows and a painted smile across my face.

Justice

Sometimes everybody hurts
All the time I hurt
I read the manual
Weighed the options
Slammed the door shut
To my conscience
And it knocks ceaselessly
And it wails like a lamb in search of its mother
Negligence on my part
Ignorance?
Think looong
live lethargic
loose
don’t lose
and as if this is a game
or competition of some sort
and we sort thru the remnants reluctantly
re living every now and again being reminded
that everybody hurts some times
and I hurt all the times
and I wish
I were a licensed firearm holder
Oh how I would hold it
And never let it go
Even more than John Wray and his nephew
Would my love for it be
And daily would I caress its trigger
In the faces of men
Young and old
Who insist
On upsetting me
Who crave
The future so badly
They can’t leave our children
And yes
I have not forgotten
To clean and oil my machine
To maintain it
 For yes
I would be hurt
If it ceased to propel
And deliver a good show
Of interior anatomy
Of red velvet liquid
Of a slurry of adipose
Stirred by bones
Which can no longer protest
And claim justice
For I
Would be the arm of justice
I would be in control
I would have it all
In the palm of my hand
And the tables would turn
Sometimes I would hurt
And everybody would hurt all the times!
