Jamiu Basitt Poem
Once upon a time, I dream
In the darkness and in the dim
In the immaculate water; I swim
In that scene no sorrow but brim
The tree and the water in trim
I swear! Life here is like film
As the lowly chirping birds flimflam
The air that greeted me is limbo-lim
In this world, I see; I dream
Dream it seem; dream it is, sweet dream
Light comes and dream goes in mime
I wanted to dream, but no more dream
Once upon a time, I dream.

Jamiu Basitt Poem
Bint is her name
Writing is her game
Through it she found her fame
She is not a dame
In many ways, they are much the
same
I noticed her when she came
She cat walked and I saw her on
that lane
Through my vision or through frame
When she became visible I saw her
hame
Like the pure elegant seed in
sesame
Her two dazzling eyes glows like a
burning flame
I looked at her height and I thought
about ramee
She came into my heart and it
became lame
I looked at her neck and I saw
wampumpeag
A gift from your late mother in grave
I looked at the future and it
whispered to me some words.
" she is your wife"
And today...?
