Where Did We Go Wrong

Shovels,blue overalls and head lamps.
They dug the golds fields to feed our our hungry stomachs, they carried the Dompas to free our future, they took beatings for our emancipation, but did they plant good seeds in our brains?
Did they instill education in our hearts?
We stick gold plates on our teeth to show monetary muscle
We dig our father's pockets to fend for our families and we are labelled gold diggers.

Were the lights at the end of the tunnel chandeliers on the ceiling of the Summit club?
Did our dreams slide downhill like a pole dancer?
Is the corporate leader a way to step on the backs of a kneeling cleaner?

Shining crystals all looked the same,we took the mirror and gave away the diamond,we gave away our herd of cattle but now we are fed a load of wild Bull and a lot of Ass.
We took away the buffalo from our national money,we boasted of millions to bid for the same buffalo and now the same buffalo ends on our plates at dinner time.

We placed Madiba on the Randelas only for the Mandelas to fight for the millions.
27 years fight to freedom,a few years into democracy, but an eternal scar of poverty.
We recalled the smoke pipe that was bringing fire to the cold land and inducted the shower head that only bring storms of conspiracy, strikes and skimpy dancers.

Did we go wrong anywhere or am I just an ignorant youth?

My Curses

I curse away one head to stabilize the thinking,I curse away the set of eyes that forever fall from the face to set a clear vision.I curse away the spear, the nation builder to educate the ***** controlled youth.i curse away your home and give the country a roof over their heads.

In the name of Hani,Sobukwe,Plaatjie and Biko I cast away the power hungry demons,I cast away the big tummied devils and I also cast away the raw fish eating kings. In light of peace, love and harmony I pray for justice, sense and sanity.I pray for the end of blood shed, xenophobic attacks and women bashing.

Black against black, white against white, black against white, our sense of sight has been racially removed.A rainbow belongs in the sky,I will continue to carry a gun and shoot everyone who looks different.Dompas memories,Bantu Stans living,Africanism disappearing I curse away tenderpreneurship.

Big beard, farmer clothing and a monkey hating gun.Game drives on police vans I will drag race with the monkey tied at the back.Blood spilling, dark screams as you touch base with your ancestors.1652,1990,1994 I curse away the Dromedaris.

"Black like me"
Cheeky black statements, arrogant monkeys,I call upon the mirror.
Mirror mirror on the wall prove that blacks are still stupid.
Mirror mirror on the wall hope the trick works again.

Green,Gold and Black
We hope for greener pastures, gold fields to rid poverty but we know black will always darken our futures.

Dreams

Dreams,dreams,dreams,dreams
How do I wake up to follow the dreams if I never slept?
The comfort of river waters, drops of rain and lightning flashes,
The comfort of my bedroom under the bridge.
My spine poked with needles of cold shivers,my hands unable to grab on to the future.

Sunrise, light, warmth and another shot at the dream.
Faith, hope, courage and another stare at the goal.
An uphill hike as I steadily rise to the top of the bridge.
Red,green, amber,a cardboard and my dreams written on it.

I don't steal,I don't kill,all I do is ask,please help!
Torn clothes,no pride,no dignity,is there still a purpose?
Tears and fear adorn my skinny shivering body,
How much long can I carry on?

The government has no place for the have- nots,
What do I have?
I have a brain, goals and an abled body.
I don't steal,I don't kill,all I do is ask.

I may ruin your mornings by coming to your car window,
I may deface your image by asking you for help,
But all I ask is for you to understand my dreams.
I'm a beggar and I also have dreams.
