Asiphe Tomeli Poem
They say sticks and stones may break my bones but I
came face to face with a wall today.
I keep on searching but I'm lost
I keep on climbing but I'm falling
I'm walking but your pulling me back
Haven't you had enough of the scars that I already have
I'm shouting with no voice
I'm crying but the well within is dried up
Gravity keeps on pulling me back
Katrina keeps on coming back
Its dark where can I find the light
I'm chained, trapped, binned-ed by this chains
I can't breath your suffocating me
I can't sleep your controlling my life
I'm shouting and kicking but your laughing
Im torn apart and bleeding
You see the the beauty on the outside but I'm dying
within.

Asiphe Tomeli Poem
In a way I'm lost
Time is flying
My hart is empty I want something
Can one always be happy
What will one be in 5 years
People talk, but I'll keep on walking
People laugh but I'll keep on crying
My mind is spinning
My wounds are revealed
I can feel a cord lashing on my back
The wind is singing
The clouds are talking
The rain washes away
Yet I keep on wondering
I'm lonely and cold

Asiphe Tomeli Poem
Whats happening to the world.
My brothers & sisters what happened to the spirit of ubuntu ( humanity)
What happened to " umntu ngumntu ngabantu" (A person is a person through other people)
I'm sure this is not what my father Nelson krolihlahla Mandela & my uncle Martin Luther King fought for
This is not what my grandparents fought for.
What happened to the saying it takes a nation to raise a child.
Do u like destroying the future generation, abusing our mothers & sisters.
Come on maAfrica Amahle (beautiful Africa) go back to your roots

Asiphe Tomeli Poem
Cant sleep because I still smell the smoke on my clothes from the fire we just put out.
I cant help but think about the soul we lost this early morning
Mornings are supposed to be filled with fresh air, birds singing, children playing happily.
Let me introduce u to my world, where dead rats, filthy green moldy water standing on the street is what u up too.
Welcome to ekasi (the ghetto/ township).
Children electrocuted till death by faulty wires while playing.
I cant help it but being robbed while going to the shop everyday.
Going to college feels like a crime because people judge saying u think u better than everyone.
My condolences to each & every innocent soul lost in these grounds my heart bleeds for u, no soul lost will be forgotten
Dear government I hope u are able to sleep well at night while making empty promises & forgetting the souls you live behind, there blood is in ur hands

Asiphe Tomeli Poem
I can't help but wonder
I can't help it but I just have to look back
The scar's that I have healed
Every picture I have is so random
I could cry a river
I can't stop the anger within
How can I love and hate thee at the same time
You were supposed to be my shield but you burnt me
You were supposed to be my oxygen but yet you're my
carbon dioxide
My heart feels like an Ice box
You're a part of me
You're my strength yet my weakness
You're past yet my future
You're my enemy yet my family
I hate you and i love you at times
You break me but yet you make me

Asiphe Tomeli Poem
I just found out that im where i am supposed to be
This is my home
Its filled with love, joy & happiness
The is no black & white
Wrong or right
Why couldnt the rest of the world be like my home
Its filled with positive energy, tomorrow & a new
beginning
I have mothers & fathers
Brothers & sisters
Im not going anywhere anytime soon i love my family
This is my home

Asiphe Tomeli Poem
I don't know if I should love you or hate you
As innocent as I was you just had to label me
You took my love and replaced it with lust
You made me lie
You thought me hate
Most of all you made me hate the color black
You made me hate my Afro
You exploited my curves, my butt and my boobs
Yet I didn't understand why because when I looked at
myself I saw an hour-glass with a pot-belly, curves, thick
lips, with a heart that is so tough and long like the grate
wall of china
Who's mind never shut like the busy streets of New York
Who has scars like the African mountains and valleys
Who has cries like winter rain
With no voice like a whale crying for its child
You left me lost wondering, abandoned if I'm still human...

Asiphe Tomeli Poem
I have
thought of a
way for
paying you
back
I wanted to
wipe away
every tear in
your eyes
since the day
i was born
but the
world does
not have
enough
toilet papers
nor tissue.
I wanna see
you smile
laugh
everyday
but not even
the funniest
comic will be
able to do
that.
I'll just ask
God to
borrow me
the sun just
for a day so
that it will
keep you
warm,
happy and
smiling.
I'll move
mountains
just to
protect you
and make
sure that the
won't be any
other tear in
your eyes.
I'll keep on
collecting
every piece
of love with this
big bag of
mine so that
i will give it
to you.
I'm sorry for
every pain
that i have
cause,sleepless
days you
have had,
party and
get to gather
you have
missed
because of
me.
I want to be
just like you
to my
children and
even better if
i can. I
couldn't have
asked God
for a better
mother

Asiphe Tomeli Poem
What if you have to choose between Heaven and Earth
Right and Wrong
The Past and the Future
Love and Lust
Passion and Desire
Family and Friends
Good and Evil
My Heart and my Mind
Summer and the lonely days of winter
Which journey will you take, being on a plane or climb
the mountains of Kilimanjaro
Have you ever been so lucky yet every time you trying to
claim your prize something will be in the way
I want to be free like the water in the valleys
Fall freely like the winter rain
I want to choose yet my heart and my mind are battling

Asiphe Tomeli Poem
Body lashed on the train bench like a cold
steel pole in winter
Dead tired, covered with dirt
I only wake up when i hear that the wheels
and rails have stopped hugging
My wrinkles are covert by these clothes
filled with cement.
Hair falling like the leaves in autumn
A man has got to do everything for his family
One couple on the side cold and cuddling, i
bet they are still reminiscing about yesterday
when they were just teens.
I on the other hand sit covered with dust, tired
with my gray hair falling like tomorrows rain.
