Old Weather

the weather outside is cold
and without someone to hold
the nights are long
i sing this song
i feel like i am old

Extreme Basketball

ball slams hard against the floor
running fast so I can score

players try to steal the ball
sharp turn, they slam into the wall

coach is screaming plays out loud
we score a point, he’s very proud

Ref. gives the ball to the other team
they want to score, but we’re too extreme

whistle blows and the game starts
we whizz around the court like darts

too fast for anyone to catch
I think I know who will win the match

I get the ball and run down the court
but I have to pull short

two girls block my way
but I won’t let them ruin my day

I fake left then right
when they realize I’m out of sight

I push the ball high in the air
And cross my fingers it’ll get there

And as you can bet,
I got nothing but net!

Tests

Pen flies when out of sight,
Boy, I hope that I'm right.
No award for me,
What a shame that'd be,
At least I gave it all my might.

Poetry

i am not a very good poet
you’d have to be deaf not to know it
so lend me your ear
and you will hear
the way i’m going to show it

Wonderland

chasing the dream
falling into a scheme

screaming as I fall
nails scratch the wall

going down
down
down

wake in a new place
hands reach and rub my face

people come to greet me
and they all agree

I'm not from this land
so they take my hand

and lead me to the queen
(who is quite mean!)

all dressed in red
from toes to head

then I meet an extraordinary man
who tells me how this world began

next to him are a mouse and hare
who go thru life without a care

that is where I meet the cat
who gives the man back his hat

a smile set upon his face
randomly appearing in a different place

taking me to see a girl in white
who asks me to join the fight

against the dragon who roams
the skies above their homes

I must agree
for is my destiny

dressed in my silver suit
ready to beat the brute

his wing flap against my face
why am I in this place!?

my sword comes down in a crash
he had no time to dash

now he’s dead and I must leave
but the man grabs my sleeve

and dances a little jig
and tells me that the world’s no to big

I give hugs and say goodbye
never shall these memories die

when back at my palace
I spoke my name aloud
“Alice.”

Consulting Detective

The man with the scarf
made his way into our heart.
The soldier with the gun
was his friend (only one)
The girl in the lab
served him bodies on a slab
The woman with the phone
made him feel not so alone.
His brother (the government)
stood at a cafe he did not frequent
with an umbrella in his hand
he and the soldier planned
not to tell the brother
what had happened to the other.
The man with no division
puts ad men in prison
the man with the crown
made his whole world fall down
scarf told soldier he was fake
and our hearts he did break
but we know he'll come back
even if a pulse he did lack
because the great Sherlock Holmes
(No matter how far he roams)
Loves the man with the gun
he's his friend...
(only one)

Hero

in a story heroes always win
have you ever wondered if they had a sin

before the hero he was a man
being heroic was not his plan

in the right place at the right time
a man struck down in his prime

to serve for others not himself
to be poor instead of in wealth

the hero wins but at a price
to find out then roll the dice

and his fate will be revealed
yet its not his power to wield

for all heroes have a role
complete the task, or lose your soul

Bad Romantic Deception

there once was a boy I thought I loved
in my mind i kept him above

all my thoughts he was there
but his love I did not share

I couldn't tell him how I felt
with the pain he could not have dealt

my mother predicted my downfall
and yet that was not the worst to befall

the fact that I knew what I had done
was still not enough to make me run

I’ll break his heart and cause him pain
that’s how I know that I am vain

to end it would relieve my doubt
that in his world I should be without

I may be just a girl of words
who wishes she would just be heard

but through these words I can express
all my sins I will confess

all the wrongs I have admitted
are few compared to the many I have committed

I know I’m wrong and what is right
yet i cannot seem to find the light

if you were to look inside
confidence you would not find

for all along I have degraded
myself in ways so as not to be persuaded

if you read this feel my pain
but know you are not to blame

I am the cause for my own hurt
but I hope I can someday reassert

myself into society
be the girl I wish to be

I doubt this will happen very soon
for things like that happen once in a blue moon

but maybe someday I will see
the thing that will lead me to be free

Spread Your Wings, Kailee

My friend says she's a turtle
Locked away in her shell
But that's only to people
Who don't know her very well

In reality she's a caterpillar
That hasn't made her cocoon
She will become a butterfly,
And that should happen very soon!

She said I am a lion
And that I protect the weak
But inside I feel small and shy,
And very very meek.

On the outside I may look big
Yet I feel very small
I'll admit I have a big heart
And it has room for all.

So my friend, I want you to see
That what you are you'll not always be,
Right now you may heave and sigh
But soon you'll be a butterfly!
