Dennis Lee Poem
Wish I could have taken better
Care of my body...
Wish they could have stopped
the cancer sooner...
I'm just a spirit now,
Floating over my own funeral.
If I had my way, I'd pick another church.
At least one that spelled my name right
On the obituary.
I wonder if they knew,
That I truly loved Sonya,
but married Adele out of convenience.
Wish I could have told my brother, Kenny
I forgive him, maybe he wouldnt cry so hard.
Wish I could tell Aunt May that hat is too big.
I wonder if Tara knows the deacons
Are looking up her dress.
Im just a spirit now,
Floating over my own funeral.
I wonder if the choir knows
How much I really hate that song...
Hope they know the Pastor's lying.
I was not that good of a man..
That suit is not the one I would have picked.
My body looks so much smaller,
and that make-up makes me look too light.
Im just a spirit now,
Floating over my own funeral.
Free from pain, free from it all.
Wonder if they know,
In spite of my short time on this earth...
i truly enjoyed it.
I truly loved it all.

Dennis Lee Poem
Come in Anger, get out of the rain.
Leave your coat on my chair.
Come on, don't start up.
Look, Love is over there.
Peace is here too.
And her true love, Gratitude.
Stop all that yelling now,
Drop all that attitude.
Hope really looks nice tonight.
And Grace is so giving.
Take off that dark coat,
Anger, this party is for the living.
Forgiveness is lighting incense.
Faith always plays that guitar.
Stop it, Anger, don't get upset
If Mercy offers you a star.
Compassion is a great teacher,
But Happiness just loves to dance.
Heart wants to keep Ego out,
And Desire cant keep on his pants!
Anger, some of us know you well
We know sometimes you get wild.
But for this very moment, this party
Could you just relax and smile?

Lost in thoughts of you,
I fantasize the day away.
The telephone rings!

Dennis Lee Poem
Tiny marimba pinwheels rotate,
Under flippant bass.
A poodle barks...
A barrage of dissonant sounds,
Melodies played backwards...
Then the music stops.
A ambivalent sneer,
As sounds rush around
Taking cover from
a blitzkreig of odd meters...
A mournful solo
filled with arabesques..
a sonic fart.
Demented cartoon music
turns into
atonal distance
turns into
rock star psuedo-blues
turns into
elegant, triumphant arpeggios.
Good night , Frank
Wherever you are.

Dennis Lee Poem
Your spirit ignites the sky,
Pausing for a minute to touch this heart.
Dream Wanderer, LifeWalker,
Pull a pearl from your wings....
Manifest as True Beauty.
Vibrate the strands of your hair,
Create the music of the Beyond.
Sing the harmony that catches my breath.
Dream of all my desires,
Spin this turquiose planet.
Your eyes tell me who you are.
The rain of your soul
Will purify this man.
You are the clear spot.
Shimmering in silence.
You are enlightenment in a instant.
You are starbursts and orgasms.
You are the Mystic Emotion.
Bringing the end
to my silent longing.
......Manifest as True Beauty.
