Untitled

your beauty astounds me

everytime you enter a room

my breath is stolen away again

you thief of my heart

how I pray you never

give it back

in the background I stay

waiting for my moment

you see me

but don't

I know you think I'm just another

thoughtless airhead who doesn't

give a damn

but I know what goes on

under that sweet smile

I know how your heart

aches every day

how you smile through every

heartbreak

how you laugh through every

inner sob

beauty through pain

strength through hardship

I'll love you

no matter what

and always hold you close

in my heart

And Then You'Re Gone

we're in your bedroom
tired and out of breath
it's quiet.
i lay there
listening to you breathe.
the bed squeaks
and you rise.
you tell me this can't go on
as you slip your shirt
over your head.
you tell me you're tired
of the secrecy and lies.
i rise
pretending i didn't hear.
a stray curl has fallen
in your face.
i reach for you
but you stop my hand
and hold it.
sky blue meets forest green
and i understand.
my chest tightens and
i lose myself.
your eyes cloud
with tears.
before i can brush them away
you bruise my lips with
one last kiss.
and then....
you're gone.
