Nagozu Aldean

hearts that drifted apart
now strangers with memories
past is past, gone and done
see how lives can be temporary

whispered promises long forgotten
embraces that turned cold
the timelessness suddenly ended
abandoned, nothing more to hold

barely able to remember
how it was, or how it could’ve been
this past of a future life
so it was thought, so it seemed.

***Nagozu Aldean is Basque for "I Stay Near You". It was from a book I read when I was 12 years of age. Never forgot the term.

Alliterated World

Ardent Arguments Arrived
Brandishing Bravery
Conundrums Cordially Contrived

Memories

Memories are all I have,
Intense and suffocating.
Churned out emotions needing salves
Healed, yet unrelenting

Abject surrender to your wiles
Embittered by time
Looming reminiscence of your smiles
Sealed in my mind

Anguishing on a future lost
Grieving over what once was,
Agonizing at what it has cost
Remembering mem'ries of a distant past

Yearning

there’s a pain that tugs from the depth of my being

a pain unlike any other

it’s trigerred by the memory of your lips on mine,

how you win me over and over

sweet pain traced by your burning touch,

and the warm gush of wind from your words

dear pain from the memory of your embrace,

and how my existence you have disturbed

Thank You My Kyuubi, My Prince

For showing me that life can be beautiful
For teaching me how to love, not only you, but myself too
For opening my mind to possibilities I’ve once shunned away
For letting me hear the song that my heart sings in its own way
For the peace that I feel every time in your presence
For making me accept pain’s reason and essence

You
You have healed this soul seared with scars
You gave it hope when it was hopeless
You brought it joy that roots from the heart
You taught it love so as not to be heartless

My life ended when people left
Yet you picked me up from that grief
Your warmth melted the frost within
And I saw light however brief

…And it was all I needed
To know that life anew awaited
With you I can finally be
Complete and ever free

Razbliuto

Why can’t you let me go?
Why haunt the corridors of my mind?
Corridors you’ve long ago, left behind

Our past has been ancient history
I worked on forgetting and accepting
On facing ghosts that had been haunting

You do not love me, can’t you see?
You’re in love with the idea, the thought
Invested emotions, all for naught

***Razbliuto is Russian for the sentimental feeling you have about someone you once loved but no longer do

El Ciego

He has enslaved me.

with a glance and a smile,

he has captured my heart.

His soothing voice,

melts the chaos within.

Fleeting moments.

Escapades.

Everything seems to fall into place.

He has filled that space,

Void for so long.

He has taught this restless soul,

that life is worth living.

***El Ciego is Spanish for the Blind man

Your Chariot

in your chariot, you swiftly came
like a leaf gliding on wind
on your chariot, a golden name
that the ages refuse to rescind

in your chariot, you proudly stand
like the gods of Greece
on your chariot, an imprinted hand
grasping the scales of peace

in your chariot, alone you hold
the reins of your fate
on your chariot, a golden mold
of love, anger and hate

My Demons

my demons are playing, tugging, teasing
whispers beckoning from the dark
they've been seeking, thrilling, tempting
trying to extinguish my sole spark

Unseeing Eyes

In numbness I bask

Stripped of joy, stripped of agony

A vessel that’s hollow

Life’s curse, life’s sweet irony

The gods I ask

Cruel, unrelenting

Shunned with silence

Dejected, spiting

The sun sets

Glaring, mocking

Shadows are cast

The world is dying
