Lie

A land of beauty, of darkness,
a place of destruction,
a journey of regret.

The liberties of Liberia
can enslave a man
can wage war on a man.

The lie in Liberia
can seduce a man
can define, even produce a man.

Liberty from the lie in Liberia!

Return Ticket

My heart and my head are at war.
My head whispers, no more.
It is inevitable,
no matter how delectable.
There is no way it is meant to last,
but my heart still beats too fast.

I have a return ticket to Love.

Lately

Lately I've been wondering
about the meaning of your plundering.
My soul's gone to hell wandering,
leaving trails of my suffering.

You have scarred me, left your mark
of which I long to be free;
on a new life to embark,
from the ghost of you to flee.

Will you please let me be?
will you set my heart free?
Will you please let me be?
Will you let my soul flee?

Lately I've been wondering
why my fortunes are flandering.
My dreams keep on stuttering,
hope in a state of fluttering.

We were doomed from the start,
you were always to leave me
bleeding from the heart
with no desire left to be.
