I have such high hopes;
For you in this world!
I guess you can't see;
You're tucked up and curled;
In a safe, secure place;
Away from what's real.
With all of your needs met;
You don't miss a meal!
COOL as can be;
Caught up in 'this life'.
It seems you can't see;
What's real and what's right.
Let GOD help you;
Just search in your heart.
To help find new ways;
And to make a fresh start!
To My 14yr old son,
I LOVE YOU!!!

There is no way you could possibly know,
How wonderful of a person you are.
You have made many hearts glow,
Yes, YOU, are a shining star!
For me you've done everything you possibly can,
And you don't know how much that means.
Whenever I would fall, you lended your hand,
And shined upon me with all of your beams.
You are my star in the sky who brightens each day,
And comforts me throughout each night.
Anytime that I needed you, you went out of your way,
To make sure everything was just right.
However, I let you down, with my mischievious act,
When I should have been helping you out.
It may seem I took you for granted because the maturity I lacked,
But I Love You, without any doubt!
I am thankful that in return you have always loved me,
Reguardless of what I have done.
That is exactly the way a Grandmother should be,
And I have to say you're the BEST one!

When the skies have fell;
And the moon is not bright,
When the stars no longer
Come out at night...
...FOREVER We Will Be!
When the sun is cold;
And no longer hot,
When all the living things
That surround us rot...
...FOREVER We Will Be!
When the grass is blue;
And no longer green,
When all the butterflies
Can not be seen...
...FOREVER We Will Be!
When the rain don't fall;
And the birds don't fly,
When all the other couples
Say good-bye...
...FOREVER We Will Be!
When the universe
Is left to you and me;
And all the things we knew
Aren't what they used to be,
GOD will shine IT's light
For all to see...
...And FOREVER We Will Be!

Latoyia Godfrey Poem
GOD has his own reasons,
For taking the one's we love.
To help with the deeds HE beholds,
And to watch over us from above.
HE takes them up to heaven,
To avoid their suffering and pain.
Yet, they continue to guide us through our lives,
And brighten a day full of rain.
We feel as if they've abandoned us,
Just left our hearts to grieve.
When really they've gone to help our Lord,
Since NOW was their time to leave.
Now, was the time when HE needed them most,
Though we felt as if we needed them, too.
Our selfish hearts don't want to let go,
Although we've had them our whole lives through.
Now it's GOD's turn to take them in,
To enjoy the time that they'll share.
Don't think, if the shall willingly go,
That it means they do not care.
So GOD suggests that we let them go,
But to let them remain in your hearts.
Know, just because they've passed away
Does not mean we'll be apart!
