Missing

As the wind grows and howls,
the grass gracefully flows and tumbles,
the ocean peacefully creates and destroys.
As the leaves flourish and then stumble,
the sun rises and then falls
the moon brightens and darkens
and the Earth…steadily keeps turning…
As each line on everything and everyone
is not equal nor identical to everything
and anything that walks…
I am a but a mere shadow
lost between the lines
of life and death,
Between times of light and dark…
I am just a line amongst the shadows
admiring all the imperfections
that create an imperfect world…
perfectly…

Wake Up

Wave at a palm on the other side of ocean,

Hitch a ride on a shooting star.

Reach the peak of Mt. Everest,

Slide belly down with the penguins from the zoo.

Dust the dusk away

Sing with stars that brighten even the darkest blues

Watch how mirrors turn to sand

Kiss the thorn of a desert rose

Drink the rain from the highest cloud

Fall in line like the ants do

Live in a world that is not my own

Wake up…

Carry on dreaming

To: Me From: Me

No one is perfect, don’t try to be.
You are who you are, not who they expect you to become.
Dream
Disappointments are ok, we’re only human.
You may be smart, but you’re not wise…yet.
Listen.
Not all humans are bad.
Listen to others, but don’t forget to listen to yourself.
Be open to new things, you’ll like it.
Love is strong word, use it wisely.
Make mistakes, learn from them.
Be cautious, not scared.
Never mistake a friend as an enemy.
Don’t believe everything you hear.
Speak up, they will listen.
Create the good times…you’ll thank yourself later.
Remember the good times, they don’t last forever.
                                                                                                    12/21/12

Love Dies Alone

I need you not
No longer in my thoughts
Wrecking havoc
On who I thought you were…
Whom you masked yourself to be.
I love you once…
In the past
No more
No more heartless days
No more heartless thoughts!
I don’t need the memories
You bestowed upon me
Nor the memories
That you once said you’d treasure…
 I loved you once
In the past…
I no longer see
Nor need you
Lingering in my memories.

Dead Rose

Alone…
driven by the scent of a dead rose…
captivated by its fragrance
indulged by its mysterious aroma
silenced in this moment of awe…
…alone…
Following my own steps…
Hearing the powder being lifted behind me from the snow…
Feeling the gravel shift with each step,
My inner flame boiling with anticipation
Yearning to see you
Longing to feel you
Aching to smell you
Craving to hear you
Wanting to taste you…
…alone
Drops…blurring my view…
Trees moving faster
Air growing colder
Wind crying louder…
…so close to feeling you
I need you
May I be your last thought…
Remember my touch…my scent…
I see your light resting on the horizon
sweet bliss at last…
or that’s what I thought…
my flame, starting to die…
slowly being consumed by everything that is now deprived…
alone…again
deprived of you…
…again alone
Standing in the snow…
With nothing more
Than single memory
Of my dying rose

Distance

I knew I couldn’t love you
I knew I shouldn’t have.
I couldn’t resist
the feel of your skin…
The sound of your voice.
y heart was taken
by the vastness
of who you are…
and what you made me…
My time ended
I had to return back to where I was
nothing more than
an empty chest…
you had taken my heart…
as I held the hand of your soul…
In our dreams
there are no oceans
to distant the you from me…
In our dreams…
there’s only the you and the me.

Last Memory

Bathed by the ocean blue
There came a thought…
And it was solely of you.
How you’d dance across the night sky
With palms and the waves, waving good bye
With hopes and lights
All lost and wandering the night
Not at all lost…
But not at all found
I’ve wandered these towns…
I’ve wandered these thoughts,
Where has the time gone by?
No longer you dance…
No longer you play…
Just sit there in the sand
By the oceans nice bay
Dream with me tonight
Dream with me of all the things we once would do
Come back to life…
Just once…
Dance with me one last time
Beside the oceans blue
Come back to life…
Give me one last memory of you

Lifeless

A lifeless life
dawns through my eyes…
with nothing but wrongs
and no birds in flight
the trees are bare
the wind is zilch
there’s a common wisp in the air
that makes the
oceans lie flat
grass won’t grow
diamonds are coal.
Amber is the dust
of the crust
where the gold
dies and cries…
Fires cremate
but won’t create…
Fables are fibs
and absence…
is our new…
Light.

Scars Left Behind

My scars do not define me…
They make me.
They are not wrongs from the past,
they are lessons for a new beginning…
They’ve opened my eyes
to what I was too shallow to see,
too deaf to hear…
and too cowardly to speak…
They are no longer the chains
that would drag behind me…
They are what set me free.

Moonlight Glow

Earth is sound
where I'm found
moonlight glows
