Babajide Awobamise Poem
Mankind seeks dominion, and takes it all by brute force..
we took the trees, to have roads, companies and buildings all in a rush...
we mined for gold , not caring the cost..
looking back we realize we should have taken another course..
for every tree cut, another should have been planted of course!
we didn't do that, and so the forests got sparse,the soil got coarse..
beautiful cities emerged, wow! who would have thought?!
with them however, man got spoilt,
we stopped walking, and in came the cars,those were classy, but they came with emissions and noise.
Hahaha, the ozone layer gets burned..
even light bulbs emit spurts,
now the sun shines ,not to warm, but to scorch..
The rains come to nourish our crops and then take our houses with flood..
Enough !
Now we must retrace our steps, and chart a new course..
we must plant a tree for everyone we cut..
no more indiscriminate burning let each waste/refuse be properly disbursed..
we must opt for alternative energy resource..
let us keep mother-earth as much as we can,Green , rich and Pure.

Fire in the rain..
i cant stay in my lane.
the truths been slain..
or are these just visions in my brain??
i dont know how people can refrain..
me i can't contain..
everyones got some stain..
even d simple ones aint plain..
i've just watched a man duped for some gain..
By someone i thought was a saint..
afer the deed had been done, we looked @ each otheR,
and there was shame..
I asked her, why this gaMe?
she replied, most of my business i go by air planes..
The cost of economy, and business class aint thesame..
someones gotta pay..
she winked @ me, and i smiled back in disdaiN..
God please, kill this fire..and leave d RaiN.

A mother's love is warm..
usually undeserved but strong..
they can b firm, sweet, kind,nd protective all at once.
They'll have your back no matter d'storm..
theirs can only be compared to the one God has 4 us all..
they're there,through thick and thin, and even when you fall..
they'd' do what they can to make sure you soaR..

is like mixing pepper, curry and thyme..
and it comes out fine..
the smell is sublime..
its just like fine wine..
a blend of many a kind..
if done at the right time..
with the right mind..
will definitely be worth someones while..
perhaps, bring them a smile..
afterall what is life without different styles..
it'd b bland boring and not worth a dime.

The other day,I was in
a conversation..
with a pretty lady
about religion..
we shared scripture
and opinion..
she just found
faith,and so stuck to
her guns, like suya n
onions..
reflecting now, I just
laugh,afterall this is
mans preoccupation..
arguing politics
,war,love and religion..
perhaps all the
diversity has been
since creation..
I think we're all part of
a pantomine,a great
illusion..
and God enjoys our
little gimmicks for his
relaxation..
I don't want d joke to
be on me,so I have
taken a position..
I pray I've left with
rapture b4 the said
tribulation..
I seek no
confirmation..
heaven sounds better
than hell in any
diction.

As always, today I thrive on grace,
at home, as I drive, when I wake,like today at church,continually I seek his face..
'Cos increasingly, I'm aware, that in order to win this race,
i've gotta know my place..
and beg that the lord be on my case..
because otherwise, my time here would've been a waste..
I wanna say thanks but there's not enough space.
Thank you anyway lord, 'cos now I go at your pace.

I hate waiting..
i think it's irritating..
initially I'm coping..
next thing I notice ,time is going..
then i'd pick my fon and start chatting..
after a while even that gets boring.
then if I'd been sitting..
my back starts aching,
so I'd get up,and start pacing..
sometimes it affects my mood,next thing you know, I'm frowning..
you know that feeling??
Anyway I probably didn't have anything else doing..
but I'd rather be relaxing,
or maybe squashing..
why are some people so unfeeling..
they'll lie and then leave you hanging..
or they'll come back puppy-eyed,apologising.
.
its all good though,these things happen,so I'm not complaining..
