Our Fruit Flirtation

You hung two big cherries on my ear.
I was delighted with the red earring.
The unexpected jewel was shining and clear
As your eyes – insatiable and dreaming…

Then you put raspberries on my palm,
And held a molecule close to my lips.
That orchard was wonderfully calm,
You could recognize my simple needs…

And I picked a sweet, ripe gooseberry,
And gave you it with extraordinary grace.
I was grateful to you for the red jewelry,
I touched the gooseberry flesh on your face…

May I Dream of You Tonight?

May I dream of you tonight?
Let me caress the picture of you.
I see your face – stars are so bright…
I know it well – nothing is new.

Let me feel warmth of your mouth
And your breath on my hair.
I never talked about my love,
Perhaps I was not aware…

I’d like to find proper words
To show my feelings this night.
But I can’t cope – I’m helpless,
No word seems proper and right

May I dream of you tonight?
These dreams will never come true,
But let our souls unite,
Only now let me dream of you...

A Love Drink

I brewed a cup of strong tea,
Using hot, crystal clear water.
I hope I made it very tasty,
And you’ll appreciate its power.

I put it on a little table
Covered with a lacy napkin.
I like this aromatic and herbal
Odor penetrating your skin.

We sit opposite one another,
I look into your eyes furtively,
Watching you add a bit of sugar.
You say something to me, I agree…

Your lips touch the brim of the cup gently,
I wish they wanted to warm mine up,
And I desire wholeheartedly
That you soon ask for another cup…

Something Between Us

There's something between us.
However, I can't name it.
I only know it's priceless
And can be bitter or sweet.

There's something between us
Though we both still disown it,
It's a feeling of sadness
When my heart weeps in secret.

And it brings joy and passion,
I love it and I hate it.
Like castaways on the ocean,
We wander about and drift.

It gives hope, light, or tears.
Invisible to the eye,
It's between us for years.
I know it will never die.

We – Not We

My joy and your joy don’t go together,
My thoughts and your thoughts touch slightly.
My hand, your hand – they will meet never,
My dreams want to kiss your dreams lightly.

Your words bloom in my heart like flowers,
I’d like to pick them and not to suffer any longer.
There is my heart and yours in the scattered showers,
My love and my hope - I have to smother them.

My island is so lonely; my flag waves on the pole.
You should have it at heart and come to comfort.
But I had a look around and didn’t see a soul.
Your ship can’t still find the inaccessible port.

My joy and your joy don’t go together,
My thoughts and your thoughts touch slightly.
My hand, your hand – they will meet never,
My dreams want to kiss your dreams lightly.

Ice Palace

I built a wonderful ice palace,
Creating my work for days on end,
Trying not to think it was aimless;
Then it seemed reasonable, my Friend.

Ice birds sat on a fence made of ice,
And white, ice horses grazed peacefully.
The ice palace-like structure was nice,
With an amazing, short ice story.

In the middle of an ice chamber
I laid an ice heart - as hard as stone,
Like a diamond, I remember -
On a distinctive white-clothed throne.

But spring sunbeams melt slowly the birds,
The fence, the horses, and the ice home.
I didn’t dare to look forwards
For the ice heart under the ice dome…

A Girl At a Bus Stop

I saw her at the only bus stop
In our little, forbidding town.
She seemed to be on the top -
The girl was getting me down.

I wanted to be just like she –
A young girl of the world
With a hand luggage- so free -
In a bus on the provincial road.

Colorful lights of a big city
Were on the lookout for her.
The bus departed, I felt pity –
I had to remain here forever.

Where are you, girl from the bus?
Where is your destination?
There was a difference between us,
Or... it’s only my imagination...

Everytime You Go Away

Everytime you go away,
When you go into the unknown,
You leave me forlorn midway,
Listening out for the echo

Of the words you never said,
And promises you never gave.
No answer – dead silence instead.
No way to take – like a slave

Of dreams never coming true,
Of fear for the lonely day,
Of my heart weeping for you
Everytime you go away…

Saint Anthony, Saint Anthony!

Saint Anthony, Saint Anthony!
I’ve lost my heart! I’ve lost my soul!
You can help me – you are holy.
It should be enough on the whole.

Saint Anthony, Saint Anthony!
I don’t know what I should do now -
I’d like to live in harmony.
I’ve lost my heart – I don’t know, how.

Saint Anthony, Saint Anthony!
Your face seems to be menacing.
I hope your heart is not stony.
I’ll do what you wish – everything!

Saint Anthony, Saint Anthony!
I’m at a loss. I should be wiser...
No excuse for the misery!
You won’t help me? Well, you know better...

Happy New Year, Baby!

Happy New Year, baby!
It’s a good time to say “Goodbye!”
I am a little sad, maybe,
In spite of the show in the sky.

Yet I don’t cry and don’t regret
The days full of promise and dreams.
Now we have a few seconds yet
Before the midnight rocket gleams.

So let bygones be bygones please,
No hard feelings and no tears!
We find our greetings with ease,
So many Happy New Years!
