An Insecure Proclamation of Love

Shall I speak of the’ in flattering verse?
Or will the words cause your lips to purse?
For these attributes that you display
Stir affection my heart must obey
As every time your smile gleams
With my eyes your joy is seen
And with each laugh, your inner child shows
So with the sound my desire goes
And when this child’s dramatic fury throws
My amusement with her grows
Though my levity, you appreciate not
It’s the best way to show my love I’ve got.
For from my ears my words do come
As it is your mouth they spawn from
But my agitation dares not persist
For your tears I’d loath assist
But when your tears do freely flow
To my arms I wish you’d go
So that I might cast your tears away
And be forever your hero for that day
And if in my arms you should wish to dwell
My restless heart your warmth would quell
For my desire I am too weak
But together, yours we will seek.

The Girl I Love

It seems so long that I must look
Among most girls, their attraction lures
But with this sight my angst does unhook
And my eyes do end their tours
The unpolished cover of your book
To suddenly turn judgment yours

As it is with great surprise
Be my expectations tragic
The cover had deceived my eyes
For these pages are but magic

Alas to Hogwarts I do not go
And to you I am a stranger
So shall I choose a book I know?
For your wonders surpass Hermione Granger

So to Panem I must take flight
As my envy does glow green
And in the Hunger Games shall I fight
For with a fire you tend to glean
I mere Peeta to thy sight
And you Ms. Everdeen

And though I not think it right
To compare the’ to what I hate
But for you I mention slight, the book, Twilight
Within its pages my affection’s fate, for with Jacob they relate

And so for you my Bella Swan
That I must assume a friend
And like Edward seek my presence gone
Loving you until the end.

Set down your book I do so wary
And reference now a great ballet
For in my arms I long to carry
And with great poise dance away
Me, a nutcracker prince, and you my sugar plum fairy.

Jealousy

It never ceases to amaze
What my body does when my mind does craze
So preoccupied by this love am I
That I took no notice of your eyes
Nor your hair nor skin
But with your heart, what lies within
Though my heart be aflame and zealous
I know better than to be jealous

Alas my feelings dare not expire
Though my mind begins to tire
As for your body I have less to tell
Though I believe he could describe it well
And while there is no love between us
I wish I could not be jealous

Far from reach your affections stray
Never to see where mine lay
Within his arms you find your prize
Perhaps he took more notice of your eyes
And though I will never fuss
I lie alone, a little jealous

In this night I begin to daze
Knowing you beneath his gaze
For my body these thoughts do raid
As my emotions take a greenish shade
And while this restraint be thus
I find myself far too jealous

In this passion I’ll find no retreat
This love a prison, its walls concrete
So with this pain I am force to toil
But your happiness I could never foil
So in my veins my nerves do ruckus
As my mind reveals it’s jealous

With this envy the curse complete
But with your heart my own does beat
As yours quickens through your lust
And mine through pain its woeful gusts
Though in this struggle I shan’t retire
Ridden with pain this love, my most sacred fire
While you might think this love too callous
I assure this, you should be jealous

Perfection

A Perfectionist sees where Perfection is not,
Often not seeing what they had ought.
For the word Perfect means a great lot
So stop being Perfect, accept it, you’re not.
And don’t expect others to give Perfection a shot
Because being Perfect cannot be taught.
So do away with Perfection don’t give it a thought,
And why not be happy with what you have got?

New Years Day

Upon awaking this new years day
To think about your face, I, a different way
For within that moment I had riddled some sense
From my body which began to tense
As to hold my mind at bay
I might compare the’ to midsummer’s day
But I with fear rebuke
Dare not repeat Shakespeare’s fluke
So shall I compare to you instead, a season
And to Christmas in this reason
While your skin looks not like snow
But rather a chestnut beside a fire’s glow
And your hair upon light shines bright
Reflects snow whisking through this night
Alas these bodily beauties do the’ justice not
For to Hallmark Christmas I compare the’ not
But rather your spirit of which I speak
That embodies Christmas every week
A gentleness upon your finger’s tips
That forever echoes from your lips
With sincerity in thy acts
A potent remedy, for this world lacks
From battlefields to warring grounds a stronger heart could not be found
In deepest pain or conflict bound your voice speaks out, no harmful sound
With eagerness your mind immerse
To every art form, its joyful verse
And with said joy does come a smile
That in the coldest hearts affection riles
So it is upon this new years day
That by your side I long to lay

Day To Day

Revealed to me on this day of gray
Where my thoughts to tend to stray
What desires I seek out most
And how best about them boast

For within this hour I seek your grace
In hopes it would bring me your face
So that we could simply speak
Before my passion does grow weak

Though immortal it may be
This love of mine does still bleed
Not with blood or liquid gooze
But with words the feelings ooze

And since with me you are not
I write these words lest they be forgot
For so much must go unsaid
And forever repeat within my head

Foolish

Loving someone is a most tricky thing,
It opens your heart, and that tends to sting.
And though you my flee from judgment’s right wing,
You will stumble on thoughts you really must sing.
So love all you can, love every fling,
Love till you die, and you’ll die smiling.

Love's Vindication

I always thought my life deprived, cloaked in tragedy
Until I found the gate unlocked, for love had set me free
But with this freedom comes remorse
For no love could stay the course

When where I thought to find depravity
I found that humor comes to me
For unbound I have become you see
From these chains which shackled me

And when anxiety does loom
I think about my so-called tomb
And so the cries find no room
For only laughter’s sound does boom

But think you not my attention worth
For many women walk this earth
To which my love does freely flow
Seeking the one whose heart does show

Love's Reason

Shall I the night recant?
Or could you reason why I shan’t?
For with such fever we did debate
How and where I steer my fate
And though above us you loftily slept
My quest for you we did inspect
A search for reason our peers embark
And so I examine my unyielding heart.
Within my mind the truth unveils
Liberating what my heart conceals
And so for them this list I write
To end any debate this night.

To begin: Kindness, Comfort, Passion, Fright,
Knowledge, Vigor, Truth and Light,
Sincerity, Simplicity, Humanity. Honesty
Benevolence, Joy, and a strength unfamiliar to me.
In addition: Laughter, love, and righteousness,
Fun, and Trusting with Wide eyed innocence.
To sum it up to those too blind,
A gentleness of Heart and mind.
So this is why I long for you
But I’m afraid these words won’t do.
For with these thoughts my tongue does bind
And my body does fall in line.
Until you awake from your sleep
And outstretch your heart for me to keep.

Love and Hate

I tend to ponder Love and Hate
And how to each I do relate
For acts of hate have vision clear
And acts of love often fear
But with anger comes debate
As with controversy lust does equate
While pain is spread by such indifference
And from passion in abundant instance
Not hard to see that tolerance lacks
While a necessity in forgiving acts

And so it has come to decide my mate
With no weakness found in hate
But with love strength unseen
For within ones heart it tends to glean
So in my mind these words collide
Urging me to choose a side
So with judgment my thoughts do race
Pulled towards love, its redeeming grace
But with darkness hate does team
And with light love does gleam
Form a circle these two great beings
And give more depth to all feelings

So to choose would be unfair
Depriving life of half its flare
For in us all, both do reside
Shifting thoughts and shaping pride
