Mirror, Mirror

Her life it seemed,
she had
just dreamed.
Awake,
and yet,
did she forget?
Important facts,
you can't go back.
Important rules,
Oh what a fool.

Mirror, mirror on the wall.
Who'd be there to catch her fall.
Not her family, not her friends.
Could put her back together again.

How safe she felt,
inside his arms.
Away from all
possible harm.
The man was hers.
But then he's gone.
She'd stay,
she thought.
She'd soon
be wrong.

Mirror, mirror on the wall.
Who'd be there to catch her fall.
Not her family, not her friends.
Could put her back together again.

She was happy.
She was fine.
He came.
The dined.
They kissed.
They danced.
They made
romance.
He left.
She cried.
Her soul,
it died.
She tested,
she paid.
She was 23,
with AIDS.

Mirror, mirror on the wall.
Who'd be there to catch her fall.
Not her family, not her friends.
Could put her back together again.

Falling

Like a sudden rain storm
Without a way to be warned,
All at once, out of the clear blue,
I stumbled upon you.

It started rather slowly.
But came upon me quickly.
And now, I'm losing grip and...
I'm starting to slip and...

I'm falling, falling, falling so deeply;
I'm falling, falling, falling completely;
I'm falling, falling, falling so in love with you.

Will has said goodbye now.
My defense has lied down.
When you're near, I can't make a sound.
I completely break down.

Like the strongest current,
Powerful and stirring,
With a pull, that takes such a hold;
A strength that will not let go...

I'm falling, falling, falling so deeply;
I'm falling, falling, falling completely;
I'm falling, falling, falling so in love with you.

Though I've tried not to give in,
The strings have begun to wear thin.
My hold has become loose and...
I fear that its no use `cause....

I'm falling, falling, falling so in love with...you.

Known

Didn't think that it'd end up this way.
Never thought that we would see this day.
Never knew that it would hurt this way.
I never thought that that's all that you'de say.

Should have known there'd never be a way.
Should have known it'd fall apart someday.
Should have known that you would change your way.
Should have known it'd never be the same.

Wish I'd known just how fast you'de leave me.
Wish I'd seen that you'de never need me.
Wish I'd known that you'de just deceive me.
Wish I'd known that you'de never grieve me.

Wish I'd known just how bad this would hurt.
Should have known that I'd never be yours.
Should have known not to believe your words.
Should have known that you'de never leave her.

Motherly Love

She’s yelling again.
Her voice is getting louder and louder.
She says that she’s stuck in a rut and it’s the little girls fault.
She says that it’s not fair she was burdened with a kid she didn’t want.
She says “Look what I’ve given up for you.”

She’s drinking again.
Her slur is getting stronger and stronger.
She says she drinks ‘cause it’s the only way to get away.
She says she needs to escape from the girl’s ugly face.
She says “Do you see what you make me do?”

She’s crying again.
Her sobs are coming harder and harder.
She says the man that she loved more than life has just left her.
She says he didn’t want kids and she should have known better.
She says “My life is over ‘cause of you.”

She’s calling again.
The sound of the phone just rings over and over.
Here message says she's had no word from her daughter.
She says what kind of kid doesn’t call their own mother?
I say “Thank God she never got through."”

In My Life

In my life,
I've made many bad choices..
There's been times that,
I've lost track of what mattered.
Got caught up,
in my own selfish needs and,
in the meantime seemed to hurt everyone that I've ever loved.

In my life,
I've made many mistakes.
How I wish,
I could go back and change.
But I can't and,
the past is gone forever.
My punishment's the consequence that I live with alone.

So sentence me
to what you think I deserve.
But just know that there's no way I can be hurt.
For this pain,
it weighs my conscience down.
For knowing what, I have done's....enough.

In my life,
there's things that I have done,
that still now,
remain to eat me up.
So, if I smile,
don't think that for one second,
the weight I've carried deep inside has finally let me go.

Through out my life,
I've learned that in this world,
true forgiveness, is rarely ever heard.
You can judge me
since you, yourself, are perfect.
And I'm sure you've never messed up or ventured down the wrong road.

Yes, sentence me
to suffer for my sins.
If you're sure that they don't sting me from within.
Cast me down,
if that is what you wish.
But I have no choice,
but to stand up....again.

In My Life.
In My Life.
In..My...Life.
