Autumn

Crimson and umber tones swirled in delightful displays.
Glistening and dancing underneath warm, shining rays.

Soft breezes shower trees with aromas when they sway.
Flamboyantly exhibited high on each cool autumn day.

Elegantly you lovingly drift to the earth, serene and gay.
In piles you rustle while the children scamper and play.

Soon hues of winter will blanket in white, blue and gray
How I wish the stunning insignia of autumn would stay.

Midnight Waltz

Dazzling twilight
Sparkling starlight
Ocher lights all around
Heavens are chanting
Nature is prancing
Anticipating concerto sounds
Zephyr tantalizing
Music harmonizing
Grand flora sway lofty in a row
Nightingale ready
Standing steady
Awaiting her cue from the Maestro
Gesture is given
Moment for singing
She shares an inspirational serenade
Welcome midnight waltz
Tonight, no faults
Night dances in a splendid cascade
Sonata swarms
Tranquility warms
Finale’ is here. Morning’s first light
Evening in awe
Heaven applauds
Bravo. Fortissimo.
Thank you. Goodnight.

Portrait of Love

Darling, I am so proud to wake up every morning as husband and wife.
Without you, my palette would be colorless and I’d live a grueling life.

Your love pleasingly brightens my heart on each and every passing day.
You are my sanctuary. My safety. All my fears just seem to drift away.

You are the true masterpiece. Di Vinci cannot hold a brush stroke to you.
Everyone agrees with me. I now know what I utter is the absolute truth.

My love, when you were creatively sculpted, God had bent a few rules.
When it comes to perfection. Picasso’s a novice. Michelangelo is a fool.

Sweetheart I’d affectionately hang you on a wall for all to admire and see.
They would witness a perfect husband who is in love with only lil’ ole me.

My dear, I believe you were sent to me from the mystical heavens above.
If I was to put a brush to canvas, I’d paint you each and every time.

Calling my masterpiece the portrait of love.

Three Words I Long To Know

My confidence is insecure. It is dreadfully low
There are three words that I long to know.
The answer determines if I stay or if I go.
Don’t want to rush. Take your time. Go slow.

My heart beats whenever I hear your name.
You are my life, my love’s one and only flame.
I can only hope that one day, you’ll feel the same.
Your feelings are silenced. I’m going insane.

You’re so complex. Sometimes you’re a mystery.
You said you wanted to spend your life with me.
What ‘s missing? Is there something I don’t see?
I cannot unlock that door, only you hold the key.

You’re my significant other. You’re all that I speak of.
We’re a great deal alike. We resemble hand to glove.
You’re the only man that I’ll ever want to love.
The answer I’ll wait. I’ll not push nor will I shove.

I’ll fade to the background. My love for you is known.
My hearts awfully restless. My soul is so alone.
Each and every passing day; my love for you grows.
My love there are three words that I long to know.

Yesterdays Today Tomorrow

Plagued by yesterday.
Yesterday is today.
Today will be tomorrow.
Tomorrow guilt will follow.
Followed pain from sorrow.
Sorrow of no hope to borrow.
Borrowed hope lost. Heart’s hollow.
Hollow heart from pain and sorrow.
Sorrow brings guilt into tomorrow.
Tomorrow will never be today.
Today will soon be yesterday.
Plagued by yesterdays today.
Tomorrow.

Tomorrow Is Today

Blue to gray.
Gray to black.
Sun has gone.
Soon be back.

Rustle of leaves
Stars are bright.
Breeze blows gentle.
Upon moonlit night.

Answer of promise.
Evening not sprung.
Chirping of crickets.
The nightingale sung.

Black changes blue.
Night faded away.
Sun now shining.
Tomorrow is today.
