Regret

I tried to hide my sordid past
but it wasn't meant to be.
I tried to live a life of good,
but the past caught up with me.

I hurt you so, yes this I know
and my heart will forever pay.
Now I'm locked here in this prison cell
and the pain won't go away.

The Master's Call

I am listening for the Master's call
that will signal that grest day
when the Shepherd comes from heaven
to call His flock away.

When this sinful world is ended
and temptations all are gone
I'll be on my way to heaven
laying claim to my heavenly home.

No more storm clouds, no more sorrows
only laughter, joy and love
when I leave this world behind me
bound for heaven up above.

And on that glorious morning
when Christ Jesus comes again
with ten thousand angels singing
glory to the Son of Man

I will know my journey is over
when I hear my Father say
Well done thou faithfull servant
enter your reward today.

Sitting On the Amen Pew

You know there's more to life
than what meets the eye
when you're sitting on the amen pew.

It's the worldly things
that you pass by
When you're sitting on the amen pew.

There's more to church
than just being seen
and when you shout "Amen"
that's what you really mean.

What others may think
just don't mean a thing.
When you're sitting on the amen pew.

Contest

Roses are red
Violets are blue
You said I should rhyme this
and now I am through.
