William Hughes Poem
The sun sets on the dark streets
Tears leave eyes as they begin to grieve
Life is hard for all
But they struggle on, trying not to fall
Food is scarce and people starve
Words of emotion in walls are carved
Houses are taken and the streets become home
Bankruptcy evident from too many loans
Whole families looking towards the sun
Remembering the times when they use to have fun
They pray together hoping for the best
Saying the Great Depression is just God's test

William Hughes Poem
The Scorpio's eyes see all
Ready and willing to lay down his own laws
He's completely focused on his path
And yet no one knows his mysterious task
His emotions are well hidden behind dark shades
Only showing feelings for the ones he loves
His words can be soft blankets or sharp as blades
Movements strong and mighty or smooth like a white dove
He loves his women unconditionally so
Ranking 10s when others rank low
Seeing blessings where others see flaws
Looking for one but attracted to all
His thoughts range from the simple to the complex
Looking for ways to put his knowledge to the test
His mind searches for meaning to his life
Fighting viciously to survive strife
The Scorpio is a deep and interesting sign
A focused being that doesn't like to waste time
He has a love for all things big or small
And he's quick to recover whenever he falls

William Hughes Poem
Wherefore art thou Cheeseburger
My stomach yearns for your greasiness
Melted cheese placed carefully onto a patty
Goodness from heaven. Oh so tasty.
The soft bread that caresses the meat
A perfect burger just waiting for me
Bliss surrounds me in a warm light
Loving every second i take another bite.

William Hughes Poem
You say you know me
But do you know whats behind the smile
behind the laugh and the joyful mask
A man made from pain and rejection
Socialy unaccepted as a young child
Presented to constant derogatory terms that hurt deep down
They called me a disgrace to my race
No speed or jumps, no black traits
Always fighting to keep my name
People tested me out and called me lame
Whole groups of people laughing into my face
Words filling up my mouth with a salty taste
I forced a smile on my face and kept going
through the hard time i tried to forget society
Alone i recovered from those times
Relaxed and isolated
Today you see me and think i'm funny
A talented athlete with a skill in poetry
Always smiling, acting like a "g"
Truthfully, you don't know me

William Hughes Poem
Emotions so fervent, the mind of the dedicated
With a path so rough he wonders how he tolerates it
But he keeps moving with a steady locomotion
Through stormy valleys and turbulent oceans
Once or twice, he may have hesitated
But his reasons weren't languid, unsated
He looked around at his life
Tempestuous eyes making sure his is path right
He stumbles forward though dark unstable passageways
Always facing his goal, vehement not to turn away
He's like a strong tower, beaten but still standing
No one knows when it'll fall or where it would be landing
He's not too proud to tell you that he never cries
But it's a desperate situation when tears leave his eyes
Usually involving the loss of something vital in his life
But with a kings golden spirit he makes that sacrifice
He reaches his goal, basked in satin moonlight
He kept moving, kept the finish line in sight
And at last he can sit on his throne
Smiling because people that told him he wasn't going to make it...were wrong

William Hughes Poem
What to do when you're turned on
People don't trust you a family moves on
One mistake made out of anger
Then family treats you like a stranger
Heart broken by friends and now by family too
Don't give even glance as they walk pass you
The love is gone, maybe it was never there
When support can be found no where
Just keep your head up and move on
Forget the traitors, you're number one
Stay strong and put a smile on your face
Because if THEY take it, you lost the race

William Hughes Poem
Its so hard to keep my mind off you
Every poem, every thought, its all dedicated to you
I'm so lost, this feeling has been here too long
To want you and not have you, the stress weighs a ton
Your smile brings me to a happy place
The image of happiness, and your limitless grace
Your lips so soft i long for a taste
You're like a drug with a most dangerous lace
When you laugh my heart skips a beat
My mind plays over and over that musical treat
Plain and simple i want you so bad
These emotions inside are driving me mad
Eyes twinkle like the stars at night
Hypnotizing pearls that influence me without a fight
Everything about you, your body and your brain
Extremely intelligent lady driving me insane
The Queen above Queens and the lust of my eyes
Just the sweet smell of you keeps making me high
Athletic body dressed with such class
I crave your voice, i want to make you laugh
Radio on blast your in every song
Sweet lady be mine, you'll never be alone
Treat you like a princess and fulfill all your dreams
Forget everyone else, its just you and me
Most important part of my life
If i got the chance i would make you my wife
Put a ring on your finger and claim you as mine
Love you now and for all of time

William Hughes Poem
My eyes show me many incredible things
From sunrise and sunset, to the fancy "bling"
Art created by HIS hand, made by HIS mind
And i enjoy these sights, and thank him for the ability to find
All things beautiful, and to see more during my time
Then my eyes saw you and i was thoroughly surprised
A beautiful woman, looked like she was sent from the sky
Like a magnet drawn to its opposite, my eyes could not look away
Everything else my eyes have touched, all beaten this day
Something about her just screamed independent, beautiful, and strong
And i'm not gone lie, once or twice i pictured her in a thong :)
But her sweet smile and graceful stride were something i had not seen
And i became addicted to her, before i even knew her theme
Then my ears connected sound to the sight
And once i heard her voice my heart took another flight
Her voice instilled confidence and showed a strong heart
A woman strong enough to stand in the scariest of dark
Even when sad her voice remained strong
And you're listening to an angel, whenever she sings a song
With all these good traits she was never conceited
And when ever complimented, her cheeks would get heated
As i got to know her, i discovered another thing
Her whole personality, went along with what i've seen
A get it done attitude, has her ready for life
And she is so intelligent, knowing the wrong from the right
And as time passed on, all the secrests we shared
Trust that was built, and grief that was aired
I'll never forget, when she showed me such trust
To share with me her fears, when she was first touched
She is my everything, and i feel so unable
To show her my love, and have a relationship strong and stable
I feel like i come short, like im chasing a queen
Yet she still talks to me, raising me to a king
With her heart i plan to be careful
And i swear to always remain faithful
Forgive me for my past, and help me in the present
And i swear together, both of our lives will be heaven
I LOVE YOU KEY

William Hughes Poem
I remember hoping the fence with a pole in my hand
Us verse the fishes, my first stand
The water pushed by the wind
Smile on my face, laughing and joking
I remember putting the rod together
Looking at the sky and saying thanks for the good weather
Relaxing with my dad by my side
Voicing "I'm coming fishes, you can't hide"
For a long time my bait was stolen
The fish would bite but the hook wasn't holding
I asked him why i wasn't catching
He said "Little man, you need patience in fishing"
At last a fish was caught
Big smile on my face i felt like a man
Then he said put it back in
That stupid fish wasn't finish growing

William Hughes Poem
Love, a curse
An emotion irremovable in our lives
Pain, suffering, betrayal, and wet eyes
Love, a blessing
Magnifying feelings of lust and belonging
Hiding faults and inspiration for improving
