Why

Why did you go?
Where did you Go?
Did you forget your son?
Your own flesh and blood?
How? How could you?
You were my father!
The man I looked up to,
hoped to be like and wanted to
learn so much from!

Years, years have passed!
The boy you once knew is now
the man you don't!

So much you have missed in my life.
School activities, choir concerts,
prom, teaching me how to drive and shave!

Why did you go? Where did you go?
Was it worth missing so much?
The years have passed and one thought
crosses my mind...Why?

The Path

Throughout life you will be bumped and bruised. You will be pushed to the right and pulled to the left, but always remember that I am with you. The road you travel may be unsure. It may have some potholes, twist, and turns. You may take the road that has been less traveled if so you need to remember that things will get rough. There will be no pavement for a smooth ride, but yet a rough path with little direction...but always remember I am with you. When time goes by and your hair turns gray, when it is a hard task just to remember to pray. Remember that I, the great I AM, will always be with you from beginning to end!

A Gift For Nine

It’s 3pm and so it shall begin…First comes the drinking then the fist…if I am lucky he will miss…if he succeeds I will pay a great price…under my bed I will cling to my life…finally it is late and he passes out on the couch…I am safe for now and must make like a mouse…quiet and careful to not wake him up…his wrath I will endure if he begins to stir…so I tip-toe around and out the door…to a place I know where I am safe…the tree house he made me when I was 8...He will not venture far into the night…here I will hide until tomorrow night…when it all begins again and I must try to overcome the things in this life that make me cry…one day I will go and never return…but for now I have no choice but to give in and go on…if he takes it out on me…she shall be safe…from the wrath of a father who no longer embraces…My gift to her is whole and selfless and pure…she is only 9 and would never be able to endure…I am strong and have faith that this trail will end…one day I will be free…one day I will be a man…who is gentle and loving…filled with care and compassion…I will never be him nor even mention…the name of the monster who strikes in the night…I am safe now it seems until the break of light.

My Dear Friend

My dear friend, how have you been, its been a while, a season or two. How do you do my dear friend, I think of you and smile once again. Do you know my dear friend, how good it was to know you? My life was blessed and touched with love, friendship, and laughter. I'm missing you my dear friend, it seems so long since I've seen you last. My dear friend, how have you been, its been a while, a season or two. I must go now dear friend, life is passing by. Please know that one day I will see you again, but until then I'll be missing you.

Today

Listen, listen to the voices that call... Let them be heard, let them be heard. Fear and oppression, pain, and sorrow. See the pain, hear the pain, feel the pain. Open your eyes, open your ears, shut your mouths and be still! Do you see what I see? Do you hear what I hear? Do you feel what I feel? Hurt and lonely children, hungry parents starring into the unknown. When will it stop? When will help come? Who will be brave to speak and too care? Stop the fighting! Stop the blaming! It's time to walk side by side, hand in hand and know that we were all created by the same wonderful man. Stop the pain, stop the sorrow! Give a hug, a prayer, and a little love for a better tomorrow!
