My Favourite Dish

It tastes like heaven, with dripping cheese,
Pizza tempts me like sorghum does bees.
Mouth is overwhelmed by the deliciousness,
I am completely allured by the lusciousness.
Delectable, scrumptious, mouth-watering;
With the Mozzarella cheese topping.
Pizzas are not meant to be eaten in haste,
They’re meant for satisfying the craving for taste.
Pizzas have a firm round doughy brown bread base,
 Their aroma tempts me from every pizzeria pizza showcase.

A little salty with a gooey satisfaction,
Even novice eaters show a wonderful reaction.
The way one wants, one can toss;
And top it with vegetables and red sauce.
Some prefer cheesy, some prefer meaty,
Some prefer chewy, some prefer crunchy.
Be it a great connoisseur or a novice pizza eater,
Pizza has a standing on everyone’s food meter.

My English Teacher

A miracle that hath never taken place ere on earth;
A present presented to the world out of God’s mirth.
A gift even more precious than Jacinth or Jade;
With sparkling gems of variant hues richly inlaid.
The gift is in the form of a person;
Whose knowledge is as immense as the ocean.

A person as beautiful as rainbow,
She is as eloquent as Cicero.
As generous as a lord;
As great as God.
Her bosom is as pure as a lily,
Her qualities are as imperishable as eternity.

As beauty is to seven wonders of the world;
Any word that she speaks, is to sweet curd.
She is so gentle a lady;
Always fresh like a daisy.
She believes that God is one;
Has taught us the meaning of a pun.

The explanation that gives and makes us write;
Makes our doubt as clear as daylight.
Besides teaching our lessons, she develops our personality;
Tries to infuse in us, every good quality.
She is the one who makes us thoughtful;
I pray to God that she be always joyful.

The Darkness At Noon

Joy, gaiety and jubilation,
Party, merrymaking and celebration.
It was a remarkable day of Reena’s life;
Within hours she would be her lover’s wife.
Dressed in exquisite Indian wedding outfit,
With complimenting gold jewelry
An adjunct to her beauty.
She felt like royalty,
Adorned with lavish embroidery.
Preparing herself to embark on the start of a new life,
Just when she realized that life is a boon;
Hit by a catastrophic tragedy,
Inundated darkness at noon.

The bright light and lark,
Turned into pitch dark.
Dismay and despair,
Her fiancé is no more.
Showers of tears,
Silence deafening to ears,
Over the years,
Only murkiness and gloom,
No flowers to bloom.
This is the truth of life,
It does shows its true color,
Once in a blue moon,
And brings darkness at noon.
