To Rule the World With

To Rule the world with violence.

by Heather Jacobs on Monday, 4 July 2011 at 11:30
.

To rule the world with violence
Is their one and only goal;
Terror is their method;
They want complete control.
We’ve seen it all before,
And we could not let it be;
We gave our lives for freedom,
For the world, and for you and me.
We fight all forms of oppression,
Helping victims far and near,
To keep the world from chaos,
To protect what we hold dear.
America’s the only country
That gives with its whole heart,
And asks so very little;
We always do our part.
So let’s unite again
To subdue our newest foe,
Whatever we must do,
Wherever we must go.
Let’s show the world once more
That America is blessed
With people who are heroes,
Who meet each and every test.

Keep Your Head Up High

If you can keep your head when all about you
and they
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,

But make allowance for their doubting too:

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,

Or being hated don't give way to hating,

And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;

If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim,

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster

And treat those two impostors just the same:.

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,

And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings,

And never breathe a word about your loss:

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew

To serve your turn long after they are gone,

And so hold on when there is nothing in you

Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,

Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,

If all men count with you, but none too much:

If you can fill the unforgiving minute

With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,

And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Dreaming Wide Awake

Dreaming wide awake
.by Heather Jacobs on Monday, 27 June 2011 at 12:24.Dreaming Wide Awake

She was dreaming wide awake and she had broken through the barriers to her soul,

She was walking on a tightrope and there were no nets around to break her fall,

She was actress, singer, dancer, poet and was spinning webs of pictures in my mind,

She was dreaming wide awake and the creations of her dreams had come alive.

She was dreaming wide awake I was enchanted by her voice and by her smile,

Her overflowing words were flying much to fast I felt just like a child,

She would sit and stare at me and touch my face as though that she were blind,

She was dreaming wide awake and the artist in me understood her kind.

I watched her very carefully while she was spinning strange and precious lies,

She often did not answer but held my hand and looked into my eyes,

She had a way of being that I never had and never could have been,

I was a willing piece of paper and was receiving my most beautiful imprint.

She was dreaming wide awake I was enchanted by her voice and by her smile,

Her overflowing words were flying much to fast I felt just like a child,

She would sit and stare at me and touch my face as though that she were blind,

She was dreaming wide awake and the artist in me understood her kind.

Falling With Broken Wings

Falling
.by Heather Jacobs on Saturday, 18 June 2011 at 13:23.Falling with broken wings

Torn apart at the seams

Been shot down again and I’m

Losing the heart of my dreams

I leave no trace in the ground

When I hit rock bottom

I hear them screaming -

“I know I got ‘em!”

My feet are bleeding

And I have to keep running

Words whispered to me

Aren’t you oh so cunning?

My heart is panicking

Trying to escape its prison

I feel it stop beating

Everything’s fading from vision

It’s lonely down here

As I scream your name

I curse myself for thinking

This was more than a game

Face down in the dirt

Coughing up your lies

I choke on the pain

And slowly close my eyes

Life N the Living

Life n the Living
.by Heather Jacobs on Wednesday, 11 January 2012 at 11:03.You are feathers

delicate bone structure

and distinct songs

that you sing as though

your last breath

has been drawn

to bring beauty

into a world with none

You are oxygen:

every breath that

drips into existence from

the cavities of a

wordless mouth:

the silent exhalations of

“I am alive.”

You are rays of light

through storm clouds

you are the sunshine

I wish I could be

where you walk

nature will grow

Mother Earth thrives

in your afterglow

You are skin:

fleshy covering for a

frozen soul – masking

my internal bruises with

soft, pure blankets,

leaving not a trace

of the scars that once

marked my heart.

Moment To Moment

Moment to Moment

Our feelings keep changing from moment to moment,

it’s something we both realize

One moment we’re hurt and next moment we’re happy,

and it’s always revealed in our eyes.

So much affects us in so many ways,

that play little notes in our soul

One moment we’re high, next moment we’re low,

from moment to moment we go.

Moment to moment we’re changing each time,

You have your moments and then I have mine.

Words can’t describe how I’m feeling inside,

as moment to moment, I am reading your mind.

Your smile makes me happy, your tears make me sorry,

I feel as you feel inside.

You have your moments and then I have mine,

our moments keep changing our lives.

I look very closely and let my self feel,

all that I see in your face.

As moment to moment we feed to our souls,

all that our feelings create.

Moment to moment we’re changing each time,

You have your moments and then I have mine.

Words can’t describe how I’m feeling inside,

as moment to moment I am reading your mind.
