I Dare You To Recover

I dare you to recover from this awful drug life
I dare you to walk a different path and to see the shining light
I dare you to recover and hold your head up high
I dare you to realize that in your old life you would have died
I dare you to recover and be the mom your children need
I dare you to help each one of your children to fulfill all of their dreams
I dare you to recover, go to meetings, and stay connected
I dare you to get a support group and keep those numbers listed
I dare you to take the 12 and 12 and instill them in your heart
I dare you to live by them, your life they’re now apart
I dare you to go on this journey God has in store for you
Trust His path, His will, God will carry you through
So say good-bye, don’t turn back, one last wave to your lover
Now from this day forth, I dare you to recover

Never Forget

I will never forget the wreckage of my past
I will never forget the awful life that I had
Removing the pain and enjoying the peace
I will never forget this new life God has given to me
I will walk my new path with my head held high
I will enjoy all of God’s nature including the blue sky
I have a new awakening of the life I can have
And with each step I take God is with me on this path
I will never forget the horror that I left behind
I will never forget how I kept things in a bind
God is walking with me and carrying me at times
As long as I trust in Him, its His will now not mine

The Road To Recovery

Let’s walk this road to recovery holding each others hand
Let’s reach out to the newcomer and learn to be their friend
Let’s walk the road to recovery practicing each one of the steps
Talking with our sponsor and things admitting things we regret
Let’s walk the road to recovery reaching out and learning to heal
As God as our Higher Power because we know that he is real
Let’s walk the road to recovery enjoying this new way of life
Praying for His will for us and doing what we know is right

Walk With Me

Walk with me a voice said in the middle of the night
Walk with me and I will show you the most extraordinary sights
Walk with me; don’t be afraid I have your best interest at heart
Walk with me; hold my hand your life I am now apart
Walk with me, leave me your burdens and I will give you rest
Walk with me, I will show you the way and clean up all your mess
Walk with me; it’s alright my child, slow steps, not so fast
Walk with me, tell me your pain, for this to shall pass

No More Worries

I feel at peace since I gave it all to Him
I gave Him my worries I gave Him all of them
The guilt and shame that has haunted me for years
I the overwhelm ness that had brought me to tears
I let it all go, all the nightmares in my head
When I let it all go, He gave me serenity instead
He is my King, the beginning and the end
He is my Master and also my friend
I have no more worries, I have no more pain
The life that I had, I lived it in vain
He has pulled me out of the slumps of my past
He has reminded me that His love will always last
He is the Creator of all of mankind
If peace is what you need, with Him you will find
Get rid of all the worries, and give it to the man above
Go to Him with an open heart and He will give you love

After the Storm

The road we travel is a road to recovery
We have seen past our pain and all of our misery
We have overcome the hardest fight of our life
We have kicked out our resentments with all of our might
We have talked about the guilt and diminished the shame
We have stopped the manipulation and all the childish games
After the storm is where our healing begins
Then we open up our minds and start to live again
