Dare Risk, Travel To the Moon

It seemed that I dared
To climb the stairs toward heaven
Effort over a millennium, or was it timeless?
A spiritual goal pursued in this endless universe
No pure maidens in the reception line
Just me, newly arrived, still in motion
Without direction, decisiveness, where to advance?
Torn between space, life and the ticking clock

While the ultimate brain conjured, matriculated, digested
Gasped, overwhelmed, in hypnotic fashion
Is it my arrival or my escape, or the inevitability of the day?

Some have purpose, desires and goals
Some follow their love instinct, or destiny
Some must lead and conquer
I myself motivate the everyman
Every grain in my body still demands freedom, choice
Every right I have to climb the staircase to freedom
But even if you dare upward to heaven
One must ask for forgiveness
As you leave loved ones behind

Leave your tools, though you still possess a keen intellect
Almost stripped down, a passenger, daring
With destiny around the corner, belief still questioned!

So up and up, isolated from all I had but my brains
A voyager, I risk life – wondering for what?
For posterity – they don’t care. Eternal honor
Soon to forget and superseded
So a risk-taker, plunked down my wealth
Accepted, aged, hope to bring sanity
To experimenter’s, ego drive, vanity and famous
Or just join a historic event coming for the advent of a new ride
Safety and terminal cancellation as Iast into the rocket
Now to please the leader, all a risk. Take off.
Observe the rocket into the hemisphere –good takeoff.
I am now helpless on the rocket airship to the Moon

Just Happiness

If I were a woman instead of a man,
Or a woman who could and still can
Be ambidextrous, bi, or confused,
If two spirits in one could be fused,
What would the critics write about to be amused?

But I am ME!
Solid, energetic, free!
Maybe rattled, rated, berated,
Shaking off showers of advice,
All I want is to feel, to love, to be nice.

Government Eyes

Written years before surveillance on a colossal scale was exposed in the USA in June 2013, but supposedly not abused!!

Surveillance, by the government
No oversight
Somewhere, somehow you are guilty
Talked to a radical
Talked to a felon
Talked to a foreigner
All in innocence, yet Big Brother is listening in
Where is our 1st amendment rights?
Freedom of speech, of suspicion?
Are we in a cyber war, secret enemy
El Qaida or somewhere in Africa or South America?
Is our privacy shot?
No more secret escapades
Or shady dealings
Still, for the sake of security , turn over
Google, AOL, everyone in the government
I say this is awfully dangerous
What a new country of suspicion we are
The pendulum swings both ways
Edgar Hoover knew and ….

It Takes Balls To Live

Life is a ball, bouncing – retrieving
You never know how far it goes
How it bounces
Like your hopes and aspiration
So you learn, prepare
and like a ball roll around
Just when you want to pick it up
Your dog beats you to it
But if you trained your dog
he will run, return it and dutifully wiggle his tail
Of course like in life
You have to learn how to hit the ball skillfully
Present striking and
Bases loaded – homerun
Your team wins
But that’s dreaming
Luck maybe – not so easy
Go practice, live a little
Hone your skills, challenge,
Roll that bouncing ball – strike OK
But then again in rough weather
Watch out for an ice shower of hail
If you ever played dodge ball
Well you do it every day in life
Try not to get hit, persevere
Yes it takes balls to stand up
Fight for your principles, go hit your home run!
Win a little but keep playing.
What other choice do you have?

A World of Dreams and Healing

There are times when giants kneel
and meditate and pray
for fright or guidance
We are not gods
There is space and the unending universe
Something far greater which supersedes all mankind

It’s time to show our truth
Our feelings hurt
Often unaware of what’s about
Shootings, killings, war, and hate
Divorce and accidents
Unending – the forces beyond our control

So we ask for inner guidance
Forgiveness for our wrongdoings
“Give me the strength to cope,
to wisely reason, to calm an inner spirit, for peace.
God, there are so many things we have to maintain
like an albatross around us”

What do I truly, really want
today, tomorrow, or next year?
To see my offspring happy and prosperous
To learn to become a better person, a better traveler
To be creative, yet not overuse the golden mean
With both feet on the ground

Now late
one thought fizzles into the next
Like clouds in the sky changing forms
I must leave this
Go elsewhere,
Settle and observe

I wait, my eyelids heavy
as if alcohol or sleeping pill has become my master
For now and after
We are not omnipotent eternal powers
We fade away, just like sundown
into a world of dreams and healing

Meaning Betwen the Lines

Careful when you read between the lines, unsaid
Conjecture often just assumed instead
An air of erudition and suspense
Unsure of inner meaning in this stance

For we write cautiously often indirect
Ashamed of honest error and neglect
So couch a message bearer can’t interpret
Duplicity and cagy words unfit

But if in truth we call a spade a spade
Tread on perception, honesty that may create much hate
Or jealousy or envy and revenge
And leave the truthful writer misery and stench

So some debate and study bible all their life
For meaning and interpretation strive
Or what did Shakespeare really mean?
The hidden in between perception curious and keen.

So next time when an email or letter sent
Do not leave innuendos, empty spaces cause they matter
Be careful for direct thought may provoke
And label you a callous most inconsiderate bloke.

Mouthwatering Gift

MY toast is seared
Begs to be devoured
Fruit of the earth -
Aromatic, brown grains
Crusty, uneven
Spread light butter
Best with sweet, chunky strawberry jam
Savor each bite upon bite
Toasty, texture over tongue
The total taste
Teased flavor inhaled through nostrils
Swallow, bite to my heart’s delight
And think –
Ah, the wonderful tangible things;
More promises ahead
Such joy from such simple, splendid bread
Crunch, crunch
Satisfied for now with this abundance
Hardly can contain myself
Push aside those artificial, material treasures
Nothing compares to this remarkable mouth-watering
Healthy gift!

Google Is Not God

Some answers Google does not have!
“Does she love me?”
“Will I be alive tomorrow?”
“After the next revolution of the earth, will the moon’s gravity suddenly decrease?”
“When will the next tsunami, earthquake occur?”
"What great person will die next week?"

No, Google is not God,
and life’s little surprises are better left for tomorrow.

On the Go

You can’t bury him yet
The wise old owl well fed
Eyes keen, a healthy spleen
A wrinkled face shows a has-been

But not so fast
Old hickory not passed
But vigilant and wise
Wisdom his greatest prize

He saunters slowly like a snail
His stories, jokes are all old mail
His humor, full of jest
Tall tales believed are just the best

He loves his kids
And grandkids in the midst
Penuriously slaved
Years of elements braved

He’s yearned it, earned it
While life has taught him quite a bit
So when you pass him say “hello”
Not finished yet, his life is on the go

Memorabilia For Mars

With patience nourish yourself and help replenish the earth
And when you grow old, infirm and crooked
Remember, you have done your part
Seeded and harvested
No tree can ask for more as it sheds its leaves

There will be a day –
When the earth crumbles
And all humanity scrambles away
on huge spaceships with all goods, inventions
Memorabilia for Mars

Momentary - you are temporary
And as you daily rise
You will fall

But never your spirit determine
You have been chosen in this time,
this place to participate in the greatest theater of life
Go - play your part
And when your time comes
Your spirit will mesh with mine for eternity
