High School Years

Walking through those doors for the first time,
WIthout a clue of what there is to come.
Guys as tall as skyscrapers charge passed you,
As you stand there clueless.
Afraid of being that kid,
The one that older kids pick on.
Timid.
Slowly making your way down the large hallway,
Crowded with hundreds of people.
Staring at your schedule,
Trying not to get lost.

With the worries of that first year behind you,
The strength of the years to come fills your veins.
Walking with confidence,
In which you lacked last year.
Stronger.
More pep in your step,
As you catch up with your friends.
Tossing the fears away,
Along with the stress.
Aware of what is to come,
Now that you are no longer the underdog.

And it has returned.
Stress.
No longer at the bottom of the chain,
Yet not quite at the top.
Hurrying from place to place.
Too much going on,
And there's never enough time.
Slowly making your way,
Down the hallway you know so well.
And that door opens,
Damn well must be meeting the devil.

The long journey has finally arrived.
The trudge to the top,
Never felt like it was getting closer.
Victory.
The sweetness of it soaks in,
And you begin to bathe in the glory.
You have made it,
Through yet another long lived journey,
That was made worth your while.
Now it's time to pass on the duties,
To the new rulers of the school.

Fairytales Becoming Reality

People are constantly saying,
That their dreams will never come true.
I don’t think that they have ever experienced,
Something as magnificent as the moment,
That I am experiencing at this very second.
My heart continues to pound,
More than it has ever pounded in the past.
I can truly say,
That I have never felt this way about anyone,
In my entire life.

At this very moment,
I could probably care less,
About the fact that we are so far away.
Since you are always in my thoughts,
It seems like you are always right next to me.
I am officially able to say,
My dreams are coming true,
Right before my eyes.

I have always felt like I was stuck,
In a unescapable fairytale.
Dreams have become reality,
Right in front of me,
And it is taking me forever,
To soak it all in.

Natural Love

The wondrous words of the wilderness,
Letting a part of your mind break free.
The smell in the air,
Watching the plants grow and wind blow.
Strolling down the endless path,
Just wondering where to go.
Thoughts begin to run through your mind,
Like sitting along a stream as the water splashes against your feet.

There are feelings that make you wonder,
Why they have just now decided to make an appearance.
It's as if they knew that you could get more,
If you took the time to search.
The wintry dreams and summer nights.
The seasons of love mixed with those that brought frights.

Going back and wondering what could have happened,
To make those childhood days better than they are now.
Watching the leaves as they fall to the ground.
Wishing that it was one of those moments where friends show up unexpectedly.

The day comes to an end.
You look at the night,
Soaking in the sights as a family of deer run passed you.
There is now a place in your heart,
That has been mended together,
From the broken pieces that were there before.
Feelings emerge and begin to take over even more.

The night begins to grow old,
And the sky begins to twinkle from the light of the stars.
Sitting alone,
Just wondering how things could be coming together so quickly.
Days grow longer than they seem,
And hours continue to move like a group of snails.

The day will come around,
Where you will realize why these feelings are there.
It will come to you without you knowing.
You'll realize what you are looking for,
As it is a mile down the road.
Follow your heart,
And you will soon find me in the end.

Graduation Day

Four years have come and gone,
Sooner than one would believe.
We've made our time worth its while,
But now it's time to go our separate ways.
Today's the day where we shine brighter than any star in the sky.
We're different in our own ways,
But we know how to come together as one.
From getting lost in a new place,
As young, naïve freshmen,
To strutting our stuff,
Down the runway of life.
We've made history!
The class that teachers will be proud to say,
"They were the ONE. Double the fun!"
Our time has come,
So let's show them what we've got!

11:11

Whenever the clock turns,
And I see that time,
I immediately think of you.
Even though there isn't a second,
That moves by way too fast,
Where you're not on my mind.
I glance at the clock,
And just close my eyes.
There's sixty seconds in a minute,
And I'm making this minute worth every second.
This moment comes around,
Only twice everyday.
Missing it is like missing that one moment,
Your moment of a lifetime.
I wish that I was able to spend every waking moment with you.
Something more than just that simple thought,
That will make me smile.
Every time I catch that clock,
That minute belongs to you.
