A Letter To My Godfather

I return my ungratefulness
for all your help and tenderness
that dwarf my potentials from incipient
and i here boast my lament

for you are the pilot of my lameness
a gift and a hope of darkness
the weather is now inclement
for my tall horns of incompetent

for all my walls are build with weakness
i should have known the gladness
of hard work, spend and be spent
but i trust in fig men for a tent

this is your legacy of unfruitfulness
for me to succeed after your likeness
but i reject you today and resillent
because in real world your name has no
reverent

My Root

Behind the black mountain and hills
to the fruitful soil and shady rills
down south of Bauchi state stays
the civilized Zaar people race
sweet home of sweet wills

the origin of the nobler praise
sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa of those days
the name that makes our story thrills
as a contry from a village of skills
we are the sun, fit to shine the world with
our rays

Cry For Open Door

Sun in the pocket
stars in a cup
are the talents unwriten and unknown

The Recompense of War

The streets are empty
the birds stop singing
the children are not playing
the people look wan and scanty

the brooks are dry and frusty
the water taste blood and fretting
the air smells dreading
the seeds of terror grows plenty

war has unleashed her good
her gifts are hunger, poverty and disease
devastation and dead as it stood

no telling when the sun will rise again
when this is over there is a course to ask
who win, who again

A Letter To All Queens

I know of a queen
the fairest of all women
the piles of all beauty
her speech is comely
and she has no spot in her
milk and honey are under her tongue

Burning like a flame tongue
with words she ravish the heart O'
queen
her body secret is always with her
even king solomon has not seen in
his women

not because she is only wise and
comely
but because she preserves treasures
of beauty

If all queen astounds in all beauty
then i will not use my pen's tongue
to speak of her as the only comely
but i will write sun clear of not one
queen
but to all daughters of women
which a queen can be found in her

A Cry For Peace

The lines are few and scattered just like the way we are now Our country is like a war farm and the leaders are the farmers religion stings, corruption, suicide bombing and dead are the activities in the farm a cup of blood for the thirsty no one to judge I feel the pains even in our breathe A cry for peace from the wing of Nigeria

Mournining Earth

Pardon me bleeding piece of earth
I see your excruciating pains
Like a pregnant woman in labour date
Loosing her beauty along with stains

Creatures atimes welcome evil as fair
Slowly quelling nature in nature rage
Visiting souls in journey not fare
Mother earth our boat through age

O' remember us in your days
For you are still our home
Good or evil you richly repays
So lets find her freedom

Come, come the earth is crying
Lets find a way to stop her dying

Old Age

Beauty in the gray head
bitten by time
effortless it comes
changing the body

gray and very aged
limbs becomes feeble
eyes are myopic
strength eludes and feeling musty

obsessed with the idea of rejuvenation
the old prays to be young
the young prays for old age
life have it own way
old age is a gift

The Return

" The moon once had a husband
but she disturbs him much
that she needed rose flowers
and where they are their are no rose
flowers
so one day he sets for a journey
to find his love rose flowers
and since then he never return
that is why she stays alone up in the sky
waiting for his return"

we all have a Husband
who left us here where we are
but not in search of rose flowers
He went to prepare a place for us
and He promise us pretty sure
He is coming back to take us
that is why we must wait
not like the moon who waits only in the
night
but we must wait day and night for His
return.

(I am talking about Jesus christ
Merry christmas and a prosperous new
year to all soupers)
