Laura Tallon Poem
A FIRE FIGHTER…
We get the call in the middle of the night,
Out the door ready to fight.
The call comes in, with much depth,
Behind the wheel someone slept.
Across the lane and head on
Arrive on scene the drivers gone.
In the other car there is
A mother, and her 2 kids.
It’s too late we hear the ambos say
The mothers gone the fathers away
The kids are hurt but not too bad,
But news we bring is too sad
Return to our lives the next day,
For those kids we all will pray.
Talking to a friend that night,
How do you do it, without fight?
It’s the job we say but is that true
Is just about the job for me and you?
We are fire fighters yes
Trying all the time to do our best
We love our job, the friends we’ve made
But we also love the lives we save.

Laura Tallon Poem
DADS LITTLE BLACK BOX….
When I was a tiny tot, just up off the ground,
My dad had a little black box, which mad a lot of sound.
It would go off, during the night,
on with the boots,& out of sight.
My dad is, a fire fighter you see,
Being all that he could be.
Through the summer, he was gone a lot,
Fighting fire which, burnt so hot.
Winter came, as did rain,
Dad’s black box would, sound again.
He is a fire fighter, you see,
Mending things for you and me.
One day when I was older,
I made a decision that would make me bolder.
I would to be a fire fighter
Making peoples days much brighter.
I’d climb into to that big red truck,
With my dad and all our luck,
We’d fight the fire, side by side
Clean the mess with the greatest pride.
I’ll wear the black boots, just like my dad,
Wear my yellows, and whistle a tad.
I know the next time my black box will sound
I’ll be on my way, to the fire ground.
I’ll meet him there and when we’re done
I’ll hug him tight and say thanks for the fun.
For my dad is a fire fighter you see
Just like him, I’ve come to be.

Laura Tallon Poem
They say love be free from judgment
they say love be free from anger
they say love be free for all
loves not free at all.
For my heart belongs to just one
we are frowned apon
for ages far apart
loves not free at all
but if its love and we know it is
should thou not be judged
for love is free for all

Laura Tallon Poem
Never you’d hear me say
Never will come the day.
To my heart love will come
Never will I lose my heart to just one
Upon a summers breeze
You walked it with the greatest of ease
To capture a moment so true as this
To lose my heart in such heavenly bliss
Upon the night we share a kiss
To what should I make of this.
Be still I say my beating heart
Two ages so far apart
Age that shall not weary us
For we’ve been lost in such lust
My love for thee so true
Could thou love me too
For this I fear is no dream
With light so pure your smile shall beam
But upon this warmest night
My heart did beat a beating fright
For no one had said words to me
As you whisper I love thee
True love had knocked upon my door
Alone I shall be never more.
