Darkness

She sits in a room of darkness
Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide
She hears a sound
But ignores it like nothing’s there

Her mind is slowly losing control
She’s fidgeting and shaking so
She hears that sound again once more
The sound is eating her up inside

She just wants to scream “Go away!”
The sound gets louder and louder
She feels like she has no control
Talking to herself so loudly

Now she’s losing control of her emotions
The pacing of footsteps starts to come near
She has nowhere to go
The footsteps come faster and quicker now

Sweat begins to feel her face
The footsteps stop now
She could feel her heart stop too
The shadow of footsteps are under the door

She closes her eyes
Doorknobs begin to turn
She starts breathing hard
The figure’s presence is there now

Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide
She sits in a room of darkness

Standing In the Wind

As the wind blows through her hair
She feels something stinging her face
She cautiously but nervously lifts her hand
As her hand touches her face she feels a liquid
She removes her hand, and puts it in front of her eyes to see
The liquid she saw was a crimson color that was dripping down on her hand
The liquid is trickling down her cheek like a waterfall
She scrambles to find some bandages
But there's no first aid kit with her
As soon as she looks back she sees a bear
The bear seems to get closer and closer every step it takes
As soon as she started to escape
She arose from her bed abruptly
Just as she had awoken, she fell back to sleep

The Soldier

The world is crazy outside
Buildings burning
People screaming
People bleeding
She hears the gunshots outside her house
Sirens loudly down the streets
She’s sitting in the corner
Rocking back and forth
In all this chaos she watches her family
Everything around her
She goes outside and boom!
The gunshot goes through her arm
She wakes up hours later looking at a soldier
She wishes she would have died
Through all this chaos
She’s wondering what is doing there
She smiles at the soldier and says, “I should be dead”
The soldier says, “No, you should not"
She says back “Why did you rescue me?”
He replies, “Because it’s my job”
She drifts back to sleep in his arms
Next time she wakes up she’s in a hospital
All she remembers is the guy saving her from all the chaos

Lights Out

When the lights start to flicker
She knows that lights are about to go off
As soon as they go out
She sits in a corner in her room
She has no protection from the lights
When the lights go out she began to whimper
What does she do?
She's scared to even step out her room
As soon as the lights come back on
She's not scared at all
The lights keep her safe
When the lights start to flicker
She hides every time
