Watching her smile,
Playing with her,
I wish nothing more!

Nilofar Shaikh Poem
Looking at the washing machine,
A thought came in my mind,
If our brain too had a system just like it,
Everyday we would remove all possible stains,
Of jealousy, anger, hatred and pain.
I wondered and pondered,
And the process of self realization began..
By learning and following some steps,
We can actually develop such a mechanism,
The detergent being optimism,
Our wisdom and kind conduct code,
Would enable it on fully automatic mode,
Our humility and simplicity,
Will function like electricity,
Our smile and acceptance of err,
Shall perform the task of water,
Forgiveness could be substance,
Which will add on the fragrance,
All hurt,
Will then vanish just as the dirt,
Resulting into bright and clean mind..

Nilofar Shaikh Poem
I heard it so many times,
“Books are man’s best friends,”
Not just that I wrote an essay of 300 words in my secondary school,
Yes I read it in the book, ‘How to write impressive and ideal essays?’
Honestly speaking, it was out of no choice,
As the other topics were difficult to attempt.
I grew up thinking, “Reading would never be my cup of tea,”
And it held true for many years to be.
I would see people around, glued to books and deriving pleasure,
Also it was my father’s favourite activity in times of leisure.
During college I had the company of passionate readers,
In their discussion on books I was just a listener.
They often would talk about new and fascinating book they had come across.
But somehow didn’t much bother and I dint assume it be a great loss.
Deep in my heart I had planted a seed,
One day even I should develop a habit to read.
I have to admit I had even put, ‘Reading’ as my hobby in my C.V,
For it is considered to be an imposing quality.
I joined a school as a teacher,
I had to read stories to children,
I considered it to be a part of my job though found them somewhat interesting,
Still didn’t take it very seriously and found it to be alarming,
Until I got married and when my husband was not there,
I had lots of time to spare,
I don’t how and why I picked up a book,
It made me smile and I was happy for the decision I took.
I learnt innumerable things from the books I read,
‘Hats off’ to all those writers my heart said.
Then I realize that in books’ company one never feels lonely,
I am convinced for it’s the best hobby undoubtedly.
Finally it has happened to me and I am glad,
I owe it to my school and students I have had.

Nilofar Shaikh Poem
Just as usual so many times I wrote today's date,
On the board, my diary, books, papers etc,
Wherever it's important to state,
I had completely forgotten about it off late,
There was nothing for which I was to wait,
Yet my mind started thinking at a faster rate...
What was so significant ? What was so great?
I got my answer straight,
Before the sun could set,
And I just smiled.... Hey it was 8 ...
A special day written in bold on my heart's slate,
It was when not just our eyes but our lips also met,
I am glad it is a part of my fate,
I wished to share the same feelings with you ,
My darling My soulmate....

Nilofar Shaikh Poem
Today I met you in my dreams,
Was happy to see you there,
No verbal exchange of words took place,
But yes the eyes met and the conversation began.
All those moments lined up in front of me,
Each one waiting for its turn,
Quickly all passed by,
And we both smiled!
Though our destinies didn’t meet,
But I am glad they at least crossed,
Now when you are thousands of miles away,
And I know we are never going to see each other,
For one thing makes me feel good,
There exists a beautiful relationship between us,
We are, and will be ‘Well Wisher’ Forever!

Nilofar Shaikh Poem
Yellow is the Smiley
Yellow is the Tweety
Yellow flowers look pretty
Blooming in deep valley!
Yellow is bright,
Yellow is sunlight
Yellow is the kite
Flying at a great height!
Yellow is to go slow,
Yellow is the bride’s glow,
Yellow is the mango,
Yellow is the little girls bow!
Yellow is my bedroom’s wall,
Yellow is baby’s ball,
Yellow is grandma’s shawl,
Yellow are the autumn leaves that fall!
Yellow is the king’s crown,
Yellow is the funny clown,
Yellow matches well with all and brown,
Yellow is the school bus in the town!
Yellow is the beautiful butterfly
Yellow is the dress I wish to buy,
Yellow is my favorite, I don’t know why?
To tell everyone I feel no shy!
