Love That Got Away

Moments of happiness,

Stolen glances,

Golden smiles.

Life was thrilling with you.

You moved my heart,

Stirred my soul.

Then you stole my heart

and became my soul’s mate.

You gave me life,

My living Prometheus.

Your fire

Delivered straight from the heavens.

Your flame

Dances around me,

And When it flickers I get burned.

But I watch the flame

unwavering.

I am drawn to it for its beauty,

But I know it is dangerous to touch,

Forbidden.

And I live with past memories

Of forgotten shared moments.

I do not speak

for words betray what’s hidden.

Silence is golden,

But turns easily to brass.

Old and tarnished,

I fade into obscurity.

You’re still here with me,

And I am reminded everyday,

That I am regrettably yours

Forever.

But you’ll never care.

You are the love that never got away.

Outcast

I am not a part of this group

But I can not complain,

And have no rights to scream

MISFIT;

Only “fire” in a crowded theater

Siren

You never cared

What laid inside.

Whether truth

Or whether lie.

Amidst the deepened hue of blue,

Just yearned to keep me here with you.

Mysterious as you were,

I could not turn around and run;

Could not do away the chance that

One

Mortal could experience

The Ambrosius honey

That laid upon your ruby lips.

I heard your voice

And I gave in.

No forgiveness for this sin.

You watched me crash against the rocks.

The ones more twisted than my thoughts.

Sing me to my sweet release.

Cradle me for my eternal slumber.

Goodbye Letter

I filled no roles,

And played no parts,

And will not live on

In any hearts.

For who would mourn a total stranger

Better than a friend?
