A Table of Four

A Table of Four

The convention room was filled to capacity

There were four to each table

Not one, with just three

The atmosphere was charged with smiles and delight

Opportunities to put faces with names

What a beautiful sight

Cause we were laid back, no nervousness or fright

There was laughter and cheers

From the groupers

There were no strangers here

Just us soupers

My table consisted of

Big and Carrie Sex and the City

No matter who he would marry, his heart belonged to Carrie
Her romance with Aiden could'nt keep them apart
Big already had her heart
It was almost like a forbidden love
The kind one tries to rid themselves of
Their love stood through the test of time
Lingering on in the backs of their minds
The love was so strong, they couldn't ignore
They came together on the penhouse floor
One more hurdle they must get over
He only wanted her, his friend, his lover
He lost his nerve at the thought of the crowd
The girls took the honeymoon, as they enjoyed it out loud
Big knew for months what he must do
get to that courthouse and say I do.

My Toyota Tercel

Terry, as I called him, was ten years old when I bought him
No power steering, that, I could handle
No air conditioning, now that was a shamble
I tried fixing his air, but he said no
He drank all of the freon and said let's go
With my head out the window, we drove along
One day the brakes went out, and when he finally stopped, I walked home
I reluctantly put him up for sale
because he was my first car, my toyota tercel

I'D Rather Live In His World, Than Live Without Him In Mine

“I’d rather live in his world, than live without him in mine”

I’d rather live in his world, than live without him in mine

Being in love, we’re oftentimes blind

To the hurt and misery one can cause

We can’t stop or even take a pause

We choose to only focus on the good

We never run away as we sometimes should

Knowing in our hearts that we should let go

We think of his kiss and say no, don’t go

We overreact when it comes to love

We think it’s a feeling, but it comes from above

Love is spiritual as we come to know

And maybe that’s why we can’t let go

My First Tricycle

My first tricycle should have been built for two
My baby sister jumped on the back
Down through the woods we zoomed
Running into a tree, I scraped my knee
Across the handle bars she flew
My beautiful tricycle could not be fixed
The cuts and scrapes were only small knicks
We never rode a tricycle again
But me and my sister
Are forever best friends

Color Blindness

We are all Gods' children, this we must confess
Our different colors and sizes are manifestations of his gifts
The content of our character, that's what we should express
When we reach out to each other
That's when we experience Gods' best

As a Man Thinketh In His Heart, So Is He

I think I am a published author, so am I
I thought it first, that's no lie
I thought myself a poet
And don't you know it, I am
I constantly think I can, I can
I think myself happy
I'm free to be me
I think myself rich
And I live abundantly
As I think in my heart, so am I: you see

February Funny Bone

February signifies love
Nothing more lovely than looking at doves
We eat, drink, and we're merry too
Next month we cry, cause we went up a size or two
February, month of love

Spring

Time to pull off the coats
Push the heavy suits to the back
Open the windows and turn off the heat
Sprint time is here, fire up the grill
Sit on the deck, enjoy and chill
Listen to the birds as they conversate and sing
Time for light colors and showing off the bling
Turn up the c-d, it's time for spring
