Joshua Arnett Poem
I wake up knowing I am loathed hated and despised,
I go to bed knowing I am loved protected and thoroughly constructively criticized,
We fight and argue as if to death while screaming what we never mean,
Our laughs together never end and all whilst we silently agree to reconvene,
Your statuesque demeanor only holds envy for my isolated unique suffering,
So social you glide above me with such ease as your unconditional love is gently smothering,
Oh mortal jealousy clasping as chains around my ankles like I am its slave,
I never forget to get under your skin or agitate your every nerve 'til you beg to be saved,
Yet first and foremost in your mind you look out for me and I for you as told by father
and mother,
I glimmer with hope and swell with pride just when you call me "Brother".

Joshua Arnett Poem
Another sunset;
As the light is consumed by invading darkness my thoughts silence and the solemn candle
flame is lit;
Aspirations, Inspirations, Determination, Fortification, all eluding without a natural fit;
Warm becomes the sought embrace of well deserved acceptance;
Yet, cold envelops the vengeful karmic bittersweet fruit of penance;
Dashing away at all the "What If's" and with them the resistant heart of the hope that
breeds independence;
So long, to a future of "possibility" and "probability";
Restful are those with new found comprehension of true inevitability;
As powerful as idealism of Utopian peace is, fools disbelieve that torn in two are its
seemingly tranquil grounds;
Since in this absence of faith which has broken the fragile shell of peaceful life, and
filled it with a quiet darkness;
With no longer a love for the ever-glorious moonlit night, my mind bid farewell to woeful
plight, And from my lips "Goodbye To Happiness".

Joshua Arnett Poem
Three in number are the so valued events in modern life,
Yet each are harbors of different types of strife,
Each having a separate sharpness although all are part of the same knife,
Opening with the deceitful crown known as a birthday,
In youth it is all you await to say,
With treasured time constantly passing your age turns it into just another loathed day,
Weddings so vile and juvenile,
The average conjoining of two families for love of two who must find a way cause they be
with child,
When divorce happens perhaps next time you'll know in the beginning it's not worth while,
The truth-teller and savior of this winding game called life is only our tomb,
Funerals are our cradle and our release to death the truest womb,
Pray it comes swifter than any lightning and twice as powerful as any thunder's boom,
Each are simple and basic facts,
Each in their way cause enough for an all out war but absent are those who are actually
prepared to attack,
Until that long awaited rebellious revolution to the darkest embraces I shall slip back.

Joshua Arnett Poem
Born in seconds yet gone in a flash,
Spent cherished with family or accruing vast cash,
Some fill with the glory of life,
Other remain as scars reminiscent of strife,
Some cling to those which left sooner,
Causing the soul to pick up gloom like a refined fine tuner,
Patience is required for those that we are waiting for,
Like waiting eagerly inside to burst out an open door,
Clarity to understand those dark few,
Feeds the soul like well-kept grass and morning dew,
Amnesia to forget the most painful lots,
Since only the hatefully corrupt try revenge plots,
Time to enjoy those that are precious to many or just some,
Which stick to our minds like shoes to old aged used gum,
Compassion when we need to understand others' troubles,
For misunderstandings reportedly only make the issues double,
Love to hold on that which makes up ourselves,
As the compilations of others' and ours moments stock our lives' shelves.

Joshua Arnett Poem
Feeling of sheer disgrace,
Sudden shame-stricken face,
All at the murmur of that thought,
That damned accursed thought that may not be fought,
That Dark Place
Have I already lost this race,
Am I a mouse in this cat chase,
To make it there feelings will have to burn,
Cherished memories are no longer allowed to be a concern,
That Dark Place
Malice and hatred are all that survives,
Trapped becomes the soul beneath glassy glossed over eyes,
So much is hollow and empty,
Shadows here are cruelly tempting,
For unknown reasons to vibrant life I become so resenting,
That Dark Place
Burning stinging blinding like mace,
Cold and gentle while it smothers me like the deceit of erotically inviting lace,
Only the strongest may survive there,
Otherwise your weakness becomes consuming pain as if fire was set to your very air,
Hiding beneath the surface pressing against falsely innocent skin,
Only filled with the most treacherous of sins,
That Dark Place
Located locked so deep within my mind,
Only accessible with stopped moments of silenced and isolated time,
Once fully opened never-more shall it be confined,
That Dark Place.
