Kelly Birchby Poem
She tills the earth
The ground
So hard the need
So soft the seed
So great
The reason
She
The earth
Mutually respectful
Easily angered
Quick to forgive
She gave life
She wants the same of the soil
She gave fruit
She asks the same of the trees
Her tears flow to the ground
She begs the same of the skies
Without life she has nothing
She tills
She plants
She prays

Kelly Birchby Poem
Perfect ILLUSION
Of life
Emerges with doubt
Tame the INEVITIBALE rage
Return once again
Your soul
Prime the feast
Alabaster to rouge
Liken the INFUSION
Akin to the essence that
CREATIVITY will always
EVENTUALLY satiate

Kelly Birchby Poem
I dreamt I was a butterfly
Or was I
A butterfly dreaming
Floating, fluttering
In delightful staccato
Up, up, down
Up, up, down
Bouncing, flittering
Dreams of spreading wings
Enrapture flowing
Free, fascinating
My soul
Enchanted
My heart
Entranced

Kelly Birchby Poem
Chaos
Can’t quiet
The restless soul
Tears
Won’t wash
Away the pain
Anger
Won’t drown
Out the sorrow
Fear
Won’t release
The scared heart
Doubt
Can’t subdue
The wounded mind
Loneliness
Makes
The heart ache
