Susan Mayes Poem
Thirty days and nights spent alone
Waiting for him to come home
He always seems to be gone
She only hears him on the phone
The few days hes home
She hopes for some time alone
With the trucker she calls her own
No time today shes told with a moan
She never makes the top of his list
With a kiss on her lips
He promises her next time
But for now he has to go
As she waves goodbye to him
A single tear drops from her chin
That's the way its always been
Why bother with waiting again

Susan Mayes Poem
On the night, of my twentieth year.
A shooting star, I saw very clear.
My wish was, said into the air.
A baby to love, either or, I don"t care.
Many years later, the wish all but forgotten.
Until, the night of his birth.
All the wait and worry, he was well worth.
Moonlight kissed his cheeks, as he first nursed.
Calm, comfortable, warm, and just fed.
I snuggled my newborn, in bed.
Stars from the window, were shinning above his head.
Nothing more beautiful, enough words, could never be said.
As I turned, for just, one more look.
My breath, was actually took.
A star exploded, as if the sky shook.
Definitely, something for the baby book.
Was I reminded, in a special way?
That my wish, had only been delayed.
A miracle, all the doctors say.
My baby boy, he was born today.
Mom loves you Cameron

Susan Mayes Poem
This I wrote as a joke for a friend, she had been singing
the trucker wife blues for a few days........
All ready married for a hundred years
A middle aged man had to try the gears
Best thing he'd done
Since he gave up the beers
She said good bye with a tear
Missing him was a fear
Now she hates to hear
I'm coming home dear
A broken record
That continues to play
He moans and groans
Just on and on
The king has arrived
So drop what your doing
Why can't he just stay gone
And leave her the heck alone

Susan Mayes Poem
Here's a story, of a cheating con man.
Faithfulness, he does demand,
that's the way, hes got it planned.
He has her, eating from his hand.
He's a liar, and a cheat!
Gosh darn man, drives for weeks.
Never will be, hers to keep.
Better run girl! Its getting deep!
He's always gone, while shes at home.
His eyes, have been known, to roam.
While hes talking to her, on the phone,
all of a sudden, his service is gone!
He thinks, she will never know,
and besides, she wouldn't dare go.
Maybe, let a few tears flow,
Her true feelings, she won't show.
Hes a liar, and a cheat!
Gosh darn man, drives for weeks!
Never will be hers, to keep.
Better run girl! Its getting deep!
She wants his time and attention,
but this only causes, friction.
He wants her butt, in the kitchen,
and to stop, all that silly wishing!
Now, this girl isn't wise, for her years,
although, she knows, what she hears.
His unspoken words, only confirm her fears!
She just doesn't, Change his gears!
Hes a liar and a cheat!
Gosh darn man, drives for weeks.
Never will be, hers to keep.
Better run girl! Its getting deep!
Only so much, can she stand!
She wants a man, that will hold her hand.
Everyday, she won't live in dread.
A woman needs to, hold up her head!
Not worry about, her face being red...
Well now ,that's the story of
"How he killed, her love"
He should have, put her above,
not after, everything else, he does.
That's how, she became a was,
Cause, hes a liar, and a cheat!
Her heart no longer, his to keep!
Let the next one, kiss his feet!
This one has, admitted defeat!

Susan Mayes Poem
A little something
for
Chunky
from his girl
A middle aged woman
With a young girls dreams
Was wondering just what
True love could mean
Friends said on lines
the best place to be
Looking for prince charming
Was totally free
A few strokes of the keys
And he was there to see
Prince charming indeed
There on the monitor screen
A message she sent
Along with a pic
A click of the mouse
Led him to her house
At last the meaning of love
has been found out
Now she finally knows
What every ones talking about
Now over a year later
Every one can see
She found her true love
without paying a fee

Susan Mayes Poem
Always on the outside looking in
Alone and lonely though surrounded by
Never really letting anyone in
No man could ever warm her heart
That is till he walked in
Blue eyes of ice
met brown eyes of fire
She saw a tornado there
With arms of the wind to quiet the fire
The volcano became aware
True love is more than rare
Two old souls had met on a dare
Explosions have erupted
And crushing winds have blown through
But her love has only grew
Something she never knew
Once a free spirit
Now bound by the wind
She waits for her man
To blow in again

Susan Mayes Poem
Sometimes, without warning, time rewinds.
Memories of you, play through my mind.
Many tears, have been cried.
By those, you left behind........
While gazing at the sky.
I heard his sigh.
As I looked into, serious little eyes.
He whispered," Why did my dad, have to die?"
Somehow, you always knew.
Your years on earth, would be few.
Many times, you spoke of what to do.
Just in case, something happened to you.
While trying to comfort our son.
His words, continued to come.
I soon realized, It's something you already done.
As he speaks of, the man he will become.
He knows, some dads live in the sky.
They watch their sons, from way up high.
Yes He knows, you saw him, learn to tie.
And that you'll always be proud, of your little guy.
In this life, he left his mark.
Our little son, the king of hearts.
Hes my lite, In the dark.
Father and son love, will never part.

Susan Mayes Poem
Tears of confusion
And tears of pain
Roll down her face
Like the pouring rain
A heart once filled with fire and flame
Now lies cold beneath the shame
Feeling so broken and drained
Tiny pieces are all that remain
To some its only a game
Letting everyone else take the blame
Make no mistake
Things will never be the same
