Marvel Godwyn Poem
GOLD DIGGER
Once, a gold digger I met.
With passion, the goldmine all night long she dug .
What a way to discover a talent
A grave digger she became.
For, her grave she dug, whilst for gold she dug.

Marvel Godwyn Poem
A HEART OF GOLD
A
Symbol of a
Seraphic being you are,
For to the hopeless, without a
Behest a chest of hope on a platter
Of silver you offered, and the cold
Maimed, with your fur, warmth
You gave.
To
The feeble minded
In the battle against cruel fate.
Courage for conquest you gave.
To the ravenous innards, through
The darkest ravine undaunted
You trod to feed.
The
Cleaved hearts from
Belied oath of love,
Solace, found in your
Salving speech.
The solitariness fissured hearts
In your companionship suture found.
Nothing
Have I seen,
That you would begrudge
For a heart of gold you have
Even your life, you would as lief
As the celestial liege give.
For his nature, in you reflects.
He, though, just a pearl had, but on
The altar of love down laid him.
For the hallowed carmine from his
Sinew our flaws to blot.
Oh
How like the sun you are
For though we are by distance barred.
Yet, the warmth of your benign rays
Here I feel.

Marvel Godwyn Poem
EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY
Though in a dark crucible
Cruel fate for you.
A hearth built
And for the crow
of the cock, with
frail hope
your dawn waits.
Disheartened though
for your dreams
By a dark veil
of vagueness wreathed,
And your easterly
light, dark fate eclipsed
But never with the eyes of yesterday
into tomorrow gaze
For everyday, a new day is
The morn, a new hope it heralds.
And it’s benign ray a courage for
Conquest over cruel fate it brings.
Cloaked in sulleness
Robed in nadir
On you, eerie fate
spitefully smiles,
for a dark thorny path
To your eyrie
it carved for you.
And even for a glint of light
you grope.
And oft time into the ditch of
futility you fall though.
In your impregnable dreams
find a strength to stand
But, never stand, for behind
To look, but to ask yourself why..
For everyday, a new day is
The morn, a new hope it heralds.
And it’s benign ray a courage for
Conquest over cruel fate it brings.

Marvel Godwyn Poem
CLOUDY SKY
Cloudy sky
Say no more to us
About rain to come.
For acrid are your lies,
And by your rhetoric speech
No more are we enthralled.
For, this perennial drought,
On pages, in archives lies.
For rain to come,
In vain revelry the farmers wait.
For no wages, like a serf in the
Corn field they toil.
Your oath of fealty you scorned
And in the belly of sectarianism
It erodes.
Cloudy sky.
Say no more us
About rain to come
For the seedlings from drought’s
Heat wilt and by the arbor of your
Cloud eclipsed are the dreams of
The saplings, etiolated in gloom
For sunlight they grope.
Cloudy sky
Say no more to us
About rain to come.
Cloudy sky
Say no more to us
About rain to come.
For horrid are your lies.
See,
The fettle faces that cheered
You to the pinnacle now shrink
From dearth. Wane, once glaring
Eyes in their hollow socket cringe.
Languid now are those sprightly
Hands that lifted you from the craddle
To your apogee.
From your wanton revelry the thunder
Claps and into the serenity of the famished
It cuts as with parched throat for the opening
Of the sky’s door for even a trickle they wait.
Gnarled children from famine on the scrawny
Backs of their mothers berth,
And with baleful eyes for them
The scavengers wait.
Cloudy sky.
Say no more to us,
About rain to come.

Marvel Godwyn Poem
REFLECTION
In trance I leaned on the window
Of yesterdays, overlooking the dimly
Lighted memory lane and my eyes grubbed
For those faces that groped with me through the
Hazy thorny path to heyday.
Some of them, to the passage of time, serfs had become.
Some in the fabric of futility repose, some under the
Arbor of the leafy bough of tree of fulfillment berth whilst
Some, to the dirk of mortality helplessly had fallen and to the
Ravenous scavenger fed, on the platter of their six feet allotment.
Dead though, but deathless eternally they will remain in my psyche.
Scavenger is symbolic of
the grave because it only
accepts the dead.

Marvel Godwyn Poem
HELL IS COLD
Dirge,
Deluge of thoughts,
Sleepless nights,
Fissured heart, depict
Your skewed companionship.
Now I am on board the ship of solitude,
Shore of quietude of heart bound, for freedom
From the serfdom of your sickly love.
But my solitude a symbol of hell you called and
For your absence, in loneliness you said I writhe.
If hell is no more watching you chortle in another
Bloke’s duvet and not being there any more to hearken
To your glib speech when you amble in at twilight
Then hell is cold.

Marvel Godwyn Poem
A
Time I yearn,
For us to the Riviera to go
Where mellow by the shadow
Of your mystique I would become.
A
Time, when louder
Than festival drums our taut
Hearts would as one beat and in the
Deepest sea of revelry swim.
A
Time when
My ravenous heart
With a scythe in hand through
The ravine, it’s feet to your heart,
As a bed of roses, would hasten,
For it’s fragrance to harvest and relish.
Oh,
Picnic time,
A time in a sequestered scenic
Rivulet where my sullen heart
Into a languid inferno would plunge
By a sensation that would be propelled
By the sight of your sexy lingerie,
By your spandex bared.
A
Time,
When our fissured hearts
Would suture and as
A leaf helplessly falls, in love
Would we again fall.

Marvel Godwyn Poem
A PRAYER TO DESTINY
My destiny,
My ever present,
Invisible,
Yet invincible companion.
Wings like an eagle
I ask of you to give me.
So, above mount of haze
And beyond the cloudy sky
I could soar and nestle.
In the vale of haze
For a steep I ask of you,
To a plane higher than
The baleful eyes of haze.
My feet, my destiny
I implore you to hasten.
In the midst of gale of cruel
Fate, to a tranquil plane of
Harmonious solemnity with
My heyday.
From the saturnine vale
My destiny.
For rescue, to you I look.
My heyday, eclipse from the
Dazzling ray of vague fate
The death knell of cruel fate
I implore you to sound.
From the knit of fabric
Of futility unravel me,
And from the shock of blow
Of bleakness absorb my fabric.
Till my heyday
And till doomsday.
Amen.

Marvel Godwyn Poem
SUNRISE
Sunrise, hasten
Your feet to come
For in you the blossom
Of my heart berths
Dusk, the mirth of my heart
Has cocooned, and in frigid
Warmth for sunrise it yearns
For my sunshine to bring.
Sunrise come for my
Sunshine to come.
Sunrise come, come
Quickly I implore
For in grub for the warmth
Of my sunshine through
The thickest of all nights
My heart gropes.
Sunrise come for my
Sunshine to come.
Sunrise come swiftly
For my sunshine to herald.
The obsequies of my loneliness
I beg you to come sound.
Sunrise come and let my
Sunshine emerge to suture
My solitude cleaved heart.
Come sunrise and let my
Sunshine come, enshrine
And kindle my heart
For, like an ember my
Heart now is.
Sunrise come for my
Sunshine to come.
Sunrise come
And let my sunshine come
For dusk phlegmatically on
The frigid, thorny path of
Loneliness on a harrowing
Voyage, my heart it has taken
Sunrise come for my
Sunshine to come.
Sunrise hearken
To the call of my somber heart.
For like when to dawn the
Crow of a cock calls, to you
My heart calls.
Sunrise come for my
Sunshine to come.
For when sunrise comes,
My sunshine’s fragrant
Rays like a myrrh through
The key hole of the door of my
Doleful heart in would filter.
The door of my heart will I
Open and in deluge of my
Sunshine’s mystique will I bask
And from the serfdom of solitariness
Free will I become.
Sunrise come for my
Sunshine to come.
Though, when sunrise comes,
Soon the sun on my sunshine
Would again set and in a swift
Gone and dusk my sunshine
Would supplant.
But while it tarries it’s
Sumptuous presence will I relish.
Sunrise come for my
Sunshine to come.

Marvel Godwyn Poem
PIERCING EYES
My
Ineffable
Inferno like emotion for you
I tried to bare, for no longer could I bear it.
But I could not.
I made to run, to hide far away from you to a sequestered
World of fantasy of my own where this feeling one day enfeebled
And dead would be and its corpse the hearse into the nether world of
Illusion would lower. But on time this insidious desire in my eyes,
Flawless, so genuine, you saw and those salving hands of yours towards
Me in embrace sauntered, heartsrings pulling kisses, caress abreast
Behind ambled and my entirety thru the sky of ecstasy scudded
And in gratification nestled. To those eyes of yours eternally
In gratitude my knees will bend, for only piercing eyes
As those could this sensation lurking
In the caverneous depth
Of a heart
Bare.
