The Lonely Soldier

There I am cold and wounded lying in the dirt. Bullets flying by my head as I cry out I'm
hurt. Nobody listens to my plea; they are all to busy trying to flee. Lying on the ground
scared and alone l feel like nobody cares and I am on my own. When I joined up I
planned to fight, knowing I’d be battling each day and night. I have made it this far in
the war with just a few more weeks until we settle the score. I want to live to see that
day so my best hope now is just lie here and pray. I don’t know why but my eyes really
itched, that’s when I saw it a five foot ditch. If I wanted to live I would have to crawl
only fifty yards out that was all. My adrenalin was pumping through my veins. I could
feel my emotions going down the drain. That’s when I did it I got up and ran! I ran to
the ditch as fast as I can, I ran I ran with all kinds of pride I felt my fallen brothers
running by my side. It felt like forever but I was finally there, I dove in the ditch and
started to stare. I started to stare at a medic there! I asked him in shock to radio help
but he didn’t speak he just yelped. I grabbed his phone from his pack and called in an
immediate air strike attack. I thanked God that they got my call. They will see a big flash
which will end it all!

In the Battlefield

In the Battlefield

Im in the middle of the battlefield trying to keep my nerve, dodging the bullets with every swerve. I clench the cross around my neck i send up a prayer before i hit the deck. They just keep coming wave after wave, my life is with God my soul to save. The battle rages every night, I cover my ears to drown out the fight; I see all the bodies what a horrible a sight! My brothers and sisters there they lie dead, i can't bear the the thought of the blood that's been shed. We fight every day for you to be free, I want you to know this i want you to see.

To the veterans of war and those currently in one, thank you very much for your service to this country, and to those who didn't make it home, you did not die for nothing you will aways be remembered.

The Facade

The Facade: Andrew James Ott

You’ve somehow broken through the facade and seen the real me. The person that you see right now ain’t who I wanna be. I put on a fake face a laugh and a smile I’m always that guy that’ll go the extra mile. The man you see hides pain inside and refuses to let go. I don’t know why I can’t do that I just don’t freaking know! Something deep inside me tells me to hang on to my pain. I’m betrayed by my tears that fall down like the pouring of rain. I hate being stuck in this mind, I feel so trapped. When I cussed out my mom I finally had snapped. I don’t like the man I’ve grown up to become, each time I see my parents I see the worlds worst son. I have so much self hate and anger inside. I wish I could just drift away like an ocean tide. No one would know where I have gone. I’d just go missing before the rising of dawn. Maybe then I wouldn’t be a disappointment maybe then I’d find peace. Maybe find another chance for my life to get a lease. I wish my soul could fade away in the black. Maybe then I could choose to never come back...

To the Moon and Back

To the moon and back. Andrew James Ott

I love you to the moon and back. Love and kindness you do not lack. Your heart is gentle soft and kind. You’re all that is on this busy mind. I will love you forever until my last day. I’ll show you my love with each word that I say. Stay amazing just the way that you are. I will love you always, whether near or far. When we kiss you set my world on fire, Jesus and you are my souls desire. I love you baby with all of my heart, hold on and wait until the best part. ??

I love you Marissa Rose Campbell happy Valentine’s Day ??
