A Reflection

As I sit beside a lake,
I look down for heavens sake.
A reflection to appear.
For the ripples of life is nearly here.

This person staring back at me.
I do not know.
Is it me?
Or is it someone else.

The waters has calmed
And all I hear are the psalms.
Sung by the angels up above
And I wish I could feel their love.

This journey we are given.
To find ourselves and what we believe in.
Takes no longer than a lifetime
But merely feels like an illusion to me.

Like a little acorn being planted to be a beautiful tree.
I will live in this world to make people believe.
There's always the good and the bad
But what about hope?

Don't we need that too?
Of course we do.
The balance of nature and life is necessary
And without it, we are nothing.

Imagine the whole universe,
We are only a tiny grain of sand.
But even the littlest person can make a difference.
No matter how big or small
Short or tall
We were given a mouth to be spoken with.

This journey is hard and righteous
But as long as I am courageous,
I will be happy and contagious.
And the whole world will see me for who I am.

Theories

I have a theory
That one day we'll all be happy
And have world peace.
That respect wouldn't just be a word
But an action from everyone.

We are only human.
We are full of emotions and capabilities.
Our talents and our flaws
Make us who we are.

We hide behind imaginary walls
So we make sure we don't fall
But even the ones who portray themselves best,
don't always stand tall.

I have another theory.
That even the loneliest person
Can be in love.
Love.....
What is love?

Is it the touch of another person?
Or is it the emotions they make you feel?
Dumb founded by the definition of this word
But only by a matter of perspective
Is what will make love real.

Being so young,
I still don't know what love is.
Blinded by life and its journey,
I never really focused on finding my other half.

Someone who understands me,
Accepts my flaws and beauty,
Pick me up when I fall,
And will be there beside me
Not two steps behind me.

I have another theory.
That even love can break down
The hardest of hearts.
They say that the heart is your most vulnerable organ.
It feels pain the most.

So answer me this...
If love can lead us to a good place
Then why have we created so much chaos?
We're in no need of dischord on this planet.

I can't do anything about it
But let it run its course
And when I bump into love,
I'll treat it with my up most respect.
I promise.

Fantasies, Realities, and Sadness

When I gaze up at the stars,
all I want to do is fantasize
about the unrealistic
images of life.

I wish I could just fly away
and live on the mountain tops of Australia.
In reality,
nothing like this ever happens.

I'm living in a fantasy dream.
I hope I never wake up
but....
I have to.

There are days where I feel lonely
and the dark gray clouds
shadow over my house.

I step outside
and let the rain touch my body.
Soaked by the wet and cold water,
I wilt away like a rose petal,
ready to escape my pain.

As I let the rain wash away my body
like hot water melting ice,
my heart turns into stone.

Stabbed by the prickly stems
of a rose.

To roam the earth
with a broken heart.

The Imperfections of Humanity

We are not aware of what we are capable of
nor whether if it's wrong or right.
We sometimes have the will and might
and many of us will stand up and fight.

To show courage and strength
takes determination and motivation.
Wait.....
What am I talking about?

We cheat, we lie, and make mistakes.
We're not perfect in any way.

We weren't made to live forever
but made to live and wilt away.
We suffer through pain and it's hardships
And even sometimes experience love.

Yes, I've had thoughts of suicide
so I can fade away.
Realizing I had issues...
I didn't care.

I've always known who I was inside
and never gave up.
I'm no philosopher like Socrates
nor do I have a college degree.
But I was raised to be somebody in this world
even if I'm going to fail countless times.

Enough about me.
Lets talk about the human race.

We will get up when knocked down.
We will fight for people we love.
We will live life like it's our last.
We will love ourselves for who we are.

We are only human.
Our imperfections is what makes us perfect.
Therefore, we are perfect in our own little way.

Freedom

This heavy feeling on my heart Drenched in this syrupy honey Sweet and glistening Beautiful and golden This sticky glue coated on my body I can't part from it's sensation My body lying naked on this bare wood Touched by my addiction This addiction I can't lift Not a curse, but a gift Wrapped in it's colorful ribbons Chained to it's promise Not willing to compromise So I bend down on my knees and beg To unbind my wrists and legs Finally... Released by these chains I wash away with the rain

Blooming

The sun rises and shines bright.
Another day to experience its light.
We wake to another new day
And for a new life, we pray.

Time goes by as we grow.
Young or old, it all shows.
As we become a little older, a little wiser.
Out hearts have a little more desire.

This journey has begun.
I have to bite down my tongue.
I'm not a kid anymore
But I have to learn some more.

Brought to this earth, I stand my ground
and I as I sit down, I hear the sounds.
I know someone's calling out to me
but I cannot reach.

I could not care any less.
I can't always be saved
or I'll become a mess.

I am my own human being
and I need to survive on my own.
I need to sprout and grow.
Like a little flower in a pot, I am that symbolism.

Watch me.
I'll grow to be a beautiful rose.
Even with it's prickly thorns,
I'll outshine the whole garden.

Plastic Love

What you showed me
felt so real.
I couldn't tell the difference
whether if it was true or not.

My mind and body were attached to you
and you made me feel so wonderful.
I was so happy.
Then...

I realized that what we had was all a lie.
A plastic love.
Shiny on the outside
but empty on the inside.

All you wanted me was for one purpose only.
You broke my heart.
Took it apart and stomped on it.
Dying in my sorrows....

How do you think I feel?
Knowing that you never cared.
It hurts me so much
and even now it still does.

I can't believe I let you take advantage of me.
I'm so enraged but yet so sad.
I hate this feeling.
So lonely and bottled up inside.

Plastic love....
Who could have know?
Your mastermind plan worked.
I was foolish enough to fall for it.

There are days where I just long for your love
and there are days where I just want you dead.
What you did to me was cruel.
I never thought that I would make the same mistakes.

But...
I did.

That day will come when I find love in someone else.
Other than you
and this time I won't be so foolish.

The Extent of My Pain

You've ended my reign
With every piece of my heart you've cut
With every bit of taste
You taste my pain

Soaking in this abandonment,
I loathe you
But even worse, I love you

Now you know the extent of my pain
And everyday I wake up with aches
Leaking from my heart
But still I stand up

Knowing how much beauty in this world
I know I'll get over this heartache

Loving you was never a mistake
A mistake I made correctly
So don't worry because I'm moving on
