Nicole Hawkins Poem
You knocked me down, I fell so hard
You tore me up, you broke my heart
But still I stood there by your side
while you ignored the tears I cried
never asked if I was okay
never cared that I wasnt
you think "I'm sorry" makes it better
You know it doesn't
cause you can't undo the pain that you have done
when my soul believed u were the one
even through the worst and hardest of times
I never once left from your side
now I gotta start over-I'll get over this
I'm gonna be fine-it's me that you'll miss
cuz now you know just what you lost
you'll never replace me-I'm your biggest loss
keep trying to come back, its fuel for my fire
I'm so over you, no truth in a liar
Our memories were pointless- our moments so fake
I was right you were wrong-it's your turn to break
I'm glad that your crying- as I laugh in your face
I truly feel nothing
my hearts been erased
You ask me how I can be so cold
but where were you when I cried alone?
where was my comfort when I needed you most?
I'm sick of your medicine-you take a dose
Goodbye to you-goodbye to us
I tried to hold on, but it hurts too much
to look in your eyes and see my mistakes
I have to let go, even though my heart breaks
everytime I remember how real it once was
and try to forget what hurts to think of
but I wish you the best, I hold no regrets
I hope this will teach you to clean up your mess
and you'll be the man you never were to me
to the next girl that stands where I couldn't be.
It's just not who I am, not anymore
I loved you so much, but I love myself more
once the blindfolds come off, You can't fake happiness
So I put my heart back in my chest
And while it's still broken, the beat carries on
you can't live a life that your heart knows is wrong
But this won't leave me bitter, It was worth what I got
Cause I found who I am, when I learned who I'm not.

Nicole Hawkins Poem
It's the age old tale
of being on the outside looking in
And forever feeling hopeless
never knowing what could have been
Two souls who cross one path,
two minds that speak the same
one heart that carries hope
one heart that carries pain
He's my escape from a place
that doesn't give a damn
With him I feel like me
-I remember who I am
I know that it won't last,
yet somehow I know it could
but once your heart knows heartache
it forgets about the good
I swore I'd never fall again
I won't let my heart give in
and I held true to my promise
until I fell for for him...
Why do we invite new wounds
just when the old ones heal?
How do the emotions we resent
become the very ones we feel?
What's a girl to do
when her heart doesn't want to fall?
but she can't ignore how fast it beats
after barely beating at all?
Is it possible to find it?
what we learn must not exist
I've encountered every kind...
could it be theres one I've missed?
I'm still not sure what it is
but I'm starting to like how I feel
because for the first time
-in a long time-
...my smile is real

Nicole Hawkins Poem
Oatmeal stained pants
milk stained rug
1 diaper pail full
6 bottles to scrub
Switch clothes to the dryer
3 more loads to wash
background music: Miss Spider
the least annoying to watch
Time for lunch
"airplane" makes you laugh
I smell something awful
Time for a bath
Scrub-a-dub-dub
too many toys for one tub
but they keep you entertained
while I get the job done
All squeeky clean
time for a nap
But surprise! ...you're not tired
How about that?
Back to the kitchen
dirty dishes to wash
background music: Yo Gabba Gabba
the most annoying to watch
Full time, over time
every single day
complete infinite tasks
on a zero dollar pay
But then I look over
and catch you smiling at me
Somehow thats worth more
Than any check will ever be

Nicole Hawkins Poem
Winter washed flowers
Paint pictures of my cold heart
Icicles are formed
Winter Wonderland
glistens for my healing heart
snow flakes gently fall
Breathe in this new found beauty
The Sun peeks through the mountains

Nicole Hawkins Poem
Divine temptation
dangerously forsaken
senses awaken
Illusion of lust
her galaxy of star dust
redemption of trust
In captivity
bow down to her majesty
Fruit falls from her tree
It is forbidden
yet too sweet to keep hidden
wanted but didn't

Nicole Hawkins Poem
Shame on you
for tainting good and pure minds
for torturing souls
for ruining lives
Shame on you
for prying tears from innocent eyes
and drowning their voices
in your puddle of pride
Shame on you
for carving wounds with your cruel serrated words
Just know in the end the victim and the villain
always gets what he deserves
So laugh as you may for now
until your words take someones life
but even that might not be enough to stop you-
afterall, it's funny, right?

Nicole Hawkins Poem
Hard to have faith in everlasting love
the credibility of
a white dress and white dove
A world where so few stay faithful, stay true
Just know it's true, I love you
eternally, "I do"
