Her Eyes

Her Eyes
(Based on Photo no. --- ps__JT76945.jpg)

Your lovely brown eyes,
In love of which one dies,
They have got something tempting,
And I may be attempting,
From my dream, to rise…

Your sweet black dress,
Makes me crazy more or less,
I can make you out in queue,
And I can’t live without you,
But often, who are you is what I try to guess…

I am butter and you are my knife,
You are my dearest life,
You are my life’s cause,
But due to my memory- loss,
I just wonder; “You are my wife?”

                                                                                                        -Anjali Mishra

We, the Students

We, the Students

The classroom may seem to you,
As a place very serious,
But there are monkeys,
The ones most mischievous.

We, the students, are there in disguise,
We may appear very serene and wise,
But to this coin, there is another side,
Which all neglect; try to avoid.

Angels in white dress,
Above the head a golden ring,
From inside, with horns and tails,
We're a devil- like thing.

Heads are stable, faces with smile,
Legs are busy kicking all the while.
Behind the book, the head one hides,
And is busy talking with the one besides.

The teacher turns to the board to write,
The students start their chalk fight,
When, about the scientific progress is told,
Various paper planes, in our hand, we hold.

When is taught the history of mankind,
The delicious food is dreamed of by our mind,
Busy is the pencil and the pen,
Renovating faces of great men.

When, the knowledge, the teacher feed,
Jokes, beneath our desk, we read,
Very skillfully all this is done,
Nothing is noticed by anyone!

My Dearest Papa

Lingering, in the dusky haze,
Is your ever-affectionate gaze,
Your effervescence, always, does stay,
To my heart, marking its way,
This eternal tranquil love of yours,
Every problem, it successfully cures,
Your blessings, with devotion, I do heed,
You beyond doubt, O Papa, are a dreadful need,
A phase of rejuvenation, of my life, this is,
Affected by a warm hug, a small kiss,
A deep significance, this triumph beholds,
From this, a love lasting an eon, unfolds,
Dear Daddy, all that I wanna tell,
There’s a prominent spot in my heart where you dwell,
Success would have merely been,
A far- fetched reverie once seen.
But you gave me a great chance,
To strike up, and accomplish my trance,
Daddy, you corrected all my mistakes,
And I’ll always value that, whatever it takes. .
I at all times do wonder,
Why opportunities go all blunder,
Why the problems ain’t solved in an instant,
Why before every trouble, life has to bend,
You led me out of the doubts,
Fished a grin out of my pouts,
Life is to face, fight and fright them all,
With you beside, dad, I can really stand tall,
Confusions always flicker in my mind,
Does God exist, I really wanna find,
But a look at my dad and mom, once I take,
And my heart tells me, “Now don’t fake,
“There they stand, before thee,
“And all the while, you moron can’t see”,
The realization, in me, soon did dawn,
Such a great fortune— from God was I born!

The Only One

The only one

My heart hopped,
Or I should say ‘stopped’,
I was shocked,
Because with me, he talked!

It’s me, the only one,
Whom he chose,
I’m the luckiest one on the earth,
It is like he has given me a red rose!

I was surprised, he’s so cute!
I stared at him, my voice mute,
It was like I was on cloud nine,
As if we were going to dine!

I was fully filled with glee,
The other girls did envy me,
He’s the handsomest, of all men,
And I said, “Yes, you can take my pen.”

A Marriage

All day and night, till where my eyes could take me,
Nothing but excitement, is what I could see,
Nervousness (of course!) from my aunt’s side,
And other expressions, that she, from her face, can’t hide!

It’s her marriage, a lucky day for her,
And both aunt and my to- be- uncle are really eager,
This is a day most awaited by them both,
A day they were waiting for since their earlier years of growth!

Everyone would be so much filled with delight,
This would surely be a memorable night,
Vows would be exchanged; the ceremony will be grand,
Embellished by floral bouquets and a band!

Oh! How filmy it would be when they would exchange smiles,
That can stretch on for many miles,
When laud applause will echo in the hall,
And aunt will look like a doll!

To- be- uncle would be like a Bollywood male lead,
And to every blessing, they both will heed,
It would be perfect, a dream come true,
It would be of a bright and colourful hue!

I would just want that this couple stays longer than eternity,
And long will be remembered their affinity,
They would be together, tells their empathy,
Wishes are high, and that’s the reality!

Summer Tempest

Summer Tempest

My love! May you be eternal,
If you are my dream, day should never dawn,
You are my goal, you are my terminal,
If you are my shadow, sun should never be gone.
If you are my hallucinations, they should never die,
If you are my swoon, I would never revive,
If you are my laughter, I would never utter a cry,
My soul, from you, I derive.
May you be like summer tempest,
That pours on me all the sorrows of thou,
You are a treasure I need to quest,
Every time- tomorrow, yesterday, and now.
You are my sadness, you are my glee,
Sweetest thou, I live for thee.

Opportunity

*Opportunity*

Love is an opportunity,
To bring two people nearer,
Way is an opportunity,
To take people further.
Mother is an opportunity,
To help a baby grow,
Sports is an opportunity,
To make people run to and fro.
Teacher is an opportunity,
To make students learn,
Friend is an opportunity,
To make one firm.
Destiny is an opportunity,
To make one determined to quest,
Life is an opportunity,
To prove ourselves the best.
