Sonali Roy Poem
The song of a thirsty flower
Hey, I have waken up
Early in the morning,
But, nobody there to greet me,
Except the sun-shine,
And the blue heaven,
And sometimes the watery springs
Come and make a get-together
For having the celebration
Of my silvery existence,
But, alas! They only shower
Pity, not rains,
And like the fairy,
Fade at once,
Giving momentary happiness.
Then, ding-dong goes the bell,
Not of the church,
But my heart’s spell,
That whispers in my ears
To make merry
And forget the bothering years
Of unwritten sadness,
As if someone opens
The magic casements
Of unregistered gladness
To bid good-bye
To heartless melancholy,
With all her rudeness!
