Black Raven

Among the Dead

By Hadleigh Spicer

Black Raven

Black is her soul if she gives into the darkness
Black is her mind throughout all this madness
Black is her life written in life’s dark pen
Black is the death that causes the sadness

Black as the creatures that circle above
Black is Raven as she stands far below
Black is the gun that she holds in her hand
Black is the choice of whether she falls or she stands

Santa Claws

You think you'll see his shadow
You think you'll be able to hear
Instead he'll kill you silently
There's no need to leave presents this year.

He loves the taste of flesh and blood
He craves it more and more
He likes to collect the little children
To eat on Christmas morn'

So just remember this year
When your eating on Christmas day
Santa will be feasting
The children no longer play.

For My Valentine

Although you may feel all alone
Afraid without a cause
lost inside today's cruel world
and feeling oh so small.

Just remember who you are
and how strong you really can be
life can be so beautiful
like how beautiful you are to me.

Soul

Temperate minds express the wellness of the human soul
Exacting the demands of the body
Though the soul has no purpose in today’s world
Making sorrow seem understandable in the naked eye

People change without a trace
Disappearing into the ways of others
To be there but not there at all
Without the human condition of love

The struggles of mankind blessed with pain
Abandoning without cause

Hope love and sorrow are written in life’s pen On the same page
In a book which nobody reads
Throughout it all we bare the pain
Of happiness of which we believe

Nobody feels truly alone
Being watched over by a god that doesn’t exist
Although the walls of control are still around us
We breath the sweet air of the final wish.

I Miss You

I sit here alone away from my dreams
waking to realise you're no longer with me
hoping to talk to you one last time
but I know it'll be harder to say goodbye

Wishing for the power to turn back the clock
to make all this misery come to a stop
but I know that if the paradise is real
then you'll be watching over me
you'll know how I feel.

The Writer

He writes how he feels
The pain he has felt
The moments he’s lived
The feelings he’s dealt

The people he’s loved
The letters he’s sent
Expressing his feelings
About the good times he’s spent

But the lovers he’s lost
Breaking his heart in two
Pushes him to write
To help him pull through

When he’s feeling alone
He just picks up his script
Reading the words
That he’s chosen and picked

A life of writing he chose
Because it makes him feel strong
Expressing his feelings
In a poem or song

His opinions and thoughts
Written down on a page
Hoping and willing
For someone to read them someday
