Hope and Strength

I was a weary traveler
lost on life’s road.
Many trials and afflictions
Left scattered on my way.

Finally exhausted and discouraged,
With no foreseeable place to go.
I collapsed in sheer desperation
With a broken spirit and body so weak.

As I lay in my anguish smothered
by the darkness not able to move,
Out of the shadows
came a soft gentle voice.

“Good Morning Sunshine”
the strengthening words
that brought me to my feet.
“Is this seat taken”
Cherished words that gave me hope.

No longer was I debilitated
To arise and conquer
Life’s adversities with those
Precious words in my heart.

He didn’t know
he gave me hope.
He didn’t know
he gave me strength.

One day he came to me
With sorrow in his voice.
Life had turned unfair for him
He was seeking a trusted friend.

With an attentive and understanding
Ear I listened to his distress.
With a sympathetic and unguarded
Heart I experienced his suffering.

The friendship between us has
developed into something special.
Leaning on each other for
Hope in tomorrow and
Strength to begin another day.

In My Arms He Cried For Her

Last night my heart
was in distress with fear
she was coming back home.
She bids him saying
it was over with
the other man like so
many times before.

In my arms he cried for her.

His heart hasn’t been
the same since she left him.
When he starts to
put the pieces of his life
back together and mend
the heart she left broken,
here she comes again and again.
Opening up the wound,
that was pierced so deep within.

In my arms he cried for her.

Every night I give him my ears
to listen to his heart.
I give him my shoulder to
hang his head upon.
I give him relief from the
affliction she causes him.
I have given him my friendship
to cling to in his time of need.

In my arms he cried for her.

I opened my heart to his pain
falling in love with this hurting man.
What was I thinking?
I cant turn back the hands of time.
I wouldn’t want to.
Knowing in my heart that I
shared with him one moment of love.
Love beyond what I could ever imagine.

In my arms he cried for her.

He says not to worry.
I have always been there
to pick up the pieces
of his shattered life.
He says I have given him
comfort and compassion
when he has suffered so gravely.
He says my friendship and love
proceeds to stitch up the gash
in his broken heart.

In my arms he cried for her.

I keep asking myself
How many times do I
have to bring out my
mending tools to keep him going?
When will he realize the game
she plays with his heart?
The emotional roller coaster
she wont let him off.

In my arms he cried for her.

My heart aches for his release
from the hold she has on him.
Will his heart let her go
to move on with his life?
Will the love that has begun
between us out power the portion
that is left for her.?
Time will only tell what
will become of us or him and her.

In my arms he cried for her.

I Give Him To You

Speechlessly,
I fell to my knees
with tears in my eyes.

I wept,
till I could not
weep no more.

God stood before me,
with his arms reaching out
to pick me up.

Upon bringing me to my feet,
I saw, next to him
stood a man.

God spoke in gentleness,
“Take this man,
I give him to you.
He will love you
beyond no measure,
and never
give up on you.

When the world
is untrue to you,
fear not,
this man
I bless you with
will always,
be true to your heart.”

Slowly,
as I looked
into this man’s eyes,
God bound
our hearts
with the lock of eternity.

This man,
my friend and companion,
is no doubt a match
from heaven sent.

Through the tests
of the world,
the key
has never been found,
to unlock the chains
that bind our hearts.

Never,
take it for granted
when love,
is a gift from above.

Believe in it,
cherish it,
and be thankful,
for not all
are given the chances
that true
infinite love brings.

With the closing,
of your eyes at night
and the reopening
in the morning light,

Thank God
for what he gives you,
for it may be
the one
he has blessed you with!!!

Love Me Forever

My heart is overflowing
with love for him today.
These are the words
I yearn for him to say.

"Hold me my darling.
Kiss me my sweet.
Stay by my side.
The reward is a special treat.

Make me a happy man.
Love me forever.
Make me a rich man.
You are my treasure.

Marry me my beloved.
Be my precious wife.
I will love and cherish you
more than anything in life."

These are the words
I yearn for him to say

When the Day Is Done

When the day is done,
I retire to my empty bed all alone.
Longing for your arms around me.
Weeping for your love to comfort me.
My heart aching, needing you next to me.

When I wake, the days are
long and drawn out,
as I wait patiently
for the hours to pass by,
Work finally comes so I can see you again.

As we work earnestly,
across the room your presence is known.
Unable to touch, but the "I LOVE YOU"
blown with a kiss, sustains me
until I am in your arms at last.

The time we share together
each night flies by so quickly.
I cherish every moment.
My legs don't want to move
when its time to walk you to the door.

At this point in our lives,
I know we must restrain
from the commitment of,
waking in the morning together
and saying "Good Night My Darling"

Growing in friendship,
guiding us to unconditional love
must be our priority.
Hand in Hand, Heart to Heart.
Together forever will be our reward.

But, in the meantime,
until we get there to that
special place in our lives.
I will continue to........

Retire to my empty bed all alone.
Long for your arms around me.
Weeping for your love to comfort me.
My heart aching needing you next to me.
When the day is done.

Fantasy

Years have come and gone and my heart is no where to be found
My recollection of what I wanted in love is just memories now.
Oh, the thoughts and words that flowed through me of love and tenderness is but a memory
How I longed for those feelings that once consumed me to be a part of my life
To just wake in the morning, go through the day, and close my eyes at night with my heart overflowing with a bountiful supply of love to give and receive
How foolish it must have been to ever think or dream love is so beautiful without blemish
If only it could have been real and not a fantasy.

That Was Me So Many Miles Away

As I retired for the night
and crawled into my bed
thoughts were of you
sleeping so far away.

Did you feel a soft gentle
breeze upon your cheek?
That was me so many miles away.

Before I closed my eyes
to sleep I whispered,
“Good Night and I Love You”
with a Kiss I blew it your way.

As the hours and miles elapse
the distance between us
grows wide but, the love
in my heart draws me closer to you.

This morning
did your heart leap?
That was me so many miles away.

Before I began my day
I whispered,
“Good Morning and I Love You”
and sent it with a hug to your heart.

As the days and nights go by
while you are absent from my sight.
I’ll be thinking of you
with every breath that I take.

When you feel a sudden
Surge of strength.
That is me so many miles away.

Before I close my eyes at night
and begin a new day, even in between.
I will be whispering,
“I Love You” and send it with my heart.

I await your return.
Saving all my Tight Hugs
and Sweet Kisses
for the Love of my Life.

Will He Still Love Me Tomorrow

How can I explain what my heart is going through?
I love him more than I have ever loved.
I experienced others in my life but no one has
awaken my heart to so much excitement as he.

Will he still love me tomorrow,
if he only knew what I had become once?

The way he looks into my eyes with adoration,
if he only knew what those eyes have seen.
The way he talks soft gentle words with compassion,
if he only knew what cruel words have been said to me.

Will he still love me tomorrow,
if he only knew what I had become once?

The way he holds my hand with such tenderness,
if he only knew what these hands have done.
The way he caresses me with such affection,
if he only knew what kind of touch I have known.

Will he still love me tomorrow,
if he only knew what I had become once?

I look at him and see a precious gift of love
I want to hold on to always and forever.
I look at my reflection in the mirror
seeing unworthiness to something so magnificent as he.

Will he still love me tomorrow,
if he only knew what I had become once?

Ive been in places, seen things, done things
beyond what his imagination could take.
Will he still love me tomorrow,
if he only knew what I had become once?

In His Sorrow

I see, I hear, I feel
him in his sorrow.

My heart
sees, the pain
he tries to hide,
behind the smile.

My heart
hears, the anguish
in his voice,
as he speaks.

My heart
feels, the heartache
he suffers,
with his loss.

The love that was
to be forever,
true, and unconditional
is gone.

The heart
and soul
perishes with
every breath taken.

Memories, of
that love,
are the only
thing left.

I had no one's heart
to see, hear, or feel
my cries for comfort
when I needed it the most.

My heart
surrenders to him
what I needed
so desperately.

My heart
knows the misery
a soul can possess
when the suffering
continues to dwell within.

Happiness and laughter
turned to tears.
Tranquil sleep
turned to restless nights.

Trust, that was
never doubted,
is now an anxiety
that the mind doesn’t
seem to rest.

Questions of why
and how exhaust
your every thought
and remain unanswered.

Pain builds
a wall of protection.
To keep out
whoever dares
to come too close.

Anger stirs within
ready to lash out
at the first word
that just doesn’t
seem to sound right.

The emotions,
of your heart
and mind, fluctuate
its ups and downs.

My Dearest Jim.
I give you my ears
to listen.
I give you my shoulder
to weep upon.

You are not alone.
I am here faithfully.
With open arms
to give you the comfort
that I needed once so desperately.

I see, I hear, I feel
him in his sorrow.

In My Eyes

He claims he is no different
nor better than any other.
What he doesn’t understand
in my eyes I see no other.

I see him being warm and tender
with a touch that melts my heart.
If it be holding my hand, caressing my cheek,
or an embrace that means so much.

I see inside him a heart possessing goodness.
Always cheerfully giving of himself.
Finding ways to pass on laughter and joy
never asking for anything in return.

I see him full of forgiveness and understanding,
in times our friendship and love are tested
with a problem that comes between us.
He’s ready to talk it out before ever leaving my sight.

I see him bestowing sincerity.
Teaching me trust when I am apprehensive.
He’s not deceitful or hypocritical
when others hide from the truth.

I see him in all his compassion
picking me up when I fall.
Giving strength, support,
and encouragment not to give up.

I see him standing tall and strong
prepared to defend and protect.
Ready to conquer whomever
dares to do me any kind of harm.

I see him pledge unconditional love
thats true and faithful.
Loving, respecting,
Ne'er wishing me to change.

I see him high on a pedestal
where all his qualities shine bright.
I can’t help but cherish them
holding them dear to my heart.

He claims he is no different
nor better than any other.
What he doesn’t understand,
in my eyes I see no other.
