A Wish

A Wish

It seems as if I was often sad, for certain I was lonely
I missed having a special friend, someone to call my one and only

I searched but friendship I could not find
My life drifted without hope, sadness on my mind

With tears in my eyes, kneeling before God, I made a wish
Show me my mistakes and light up my heart with love no one can extinguish

Soon you came along the way, a kind and special friend
God saw my tears, granted my greatest wish, a friend whose love has no end

For the One I Love "carolyn"

As I traveled through the years
There were many long, sometimes difficult days that were my Life.
I had grown tired, and as I became weary I had realized
My life seemed empty, but was often full of strife

As time passed I had failed to realize I had become lost
Passing through life fruitlessly, pressing on without much care
I had run long and I had run hard, all alone
There was no one in my life with which to share

No one to see, No one to hear
Looking to my side, I found no one standing there
Left only with my loneliness
Only my empty soul in which to stare

Then in the distance a voice I heard
A sweet and wonderful sound
Some one who just like me
Was lost hoping to be found

You were funny, you were beautiful
And to me you were so very kind
Because of your laughter and your sweetness
The joy you brought me was always on my mind

No longer do I seek to run
I have no desire or passion to flee
Now the person I need most
The only one I love is Carolyn, standing next to me

Choices

Life is the sum of choices that are made
Some handed down to us others are all our own
They shape us and mold us
Choices make us who and what we are
We think we can change moving forward
Can we ever change who we were meant to be
There is no right or wrong at any moment
We can only judge looking back
Are we not remembered for the choices made
By then it is to late for change
So live each day by what your heart says is true
By choice those who love you always will

Lessons About Life

The Bible taught me all things written between the covers of this book were true
It said that there was a time to laugh and a time to cry
It said there was a time to be born and a time to die
Any question regarding life, search here and I would find the reason
For all things important to life there would be a season

Mom and Dad taught all the words found written above were true
They taught me about sacrifice and honor, they said there more to life than just you
When the time came to decide right from wrong, I must learn the right thing to do
Soon I found a little kindness and charity would go a long way
The things I decided, what I did and what I said, would matter some day

Life taught me all the words found written above were true
What no one told me was that life would be hard, a struggle all the way through
Not all fun or play, I would often be left wondering what I should do
All through life, never in words did any one share
How difficult and meaningless would be the burdens I might bare

You my love taught me all the words written above were true
Life could be meaningless unless I found a purpose as I made our way through
You gave me hope teaching me the meaning of life from a different point of view
You taught me when all is said and done, only one thing matters at the end of the day
You showed me that nothing is more important in life but to love, there is no greater way
