Love Black and White

One’s black
One’s white
The world doesn’t understand
The love they share
Or the reasons why they love who they do
Only love isn’t nor should it be as simple
As the colors of a misguided world
Love is a tangled web of mangled art
The Picasso of human emotions
The beauty of existing in a world of circumstance
The mixing of the races began with the mixing of the worlds
So many are upset by it, that they only want to judge
Don’t judge color or the one’s who love
Judge yourself and figure out what you’re afraid of
If you’re one of those who are visually challenged
Unable to see the beauty of being color-blind
Welcome to the new world
Where interracial relations isn’t one of a kind
But the norm
For a diversity embracing world~

Senior Citizens/Our Future

Life sucks
And guess what
It only gets worse
Years of hard work
And bosses you hate
No pension plan

Now Social security check is always late
No medicare
Or decent housing
Nursing homes when you’re too much to handle
Children doctors straight from college campuses

Brittle bones
And lose of mind
Uncontrollable bodily functions
Limbs that won’t answer your command
Ungrateful kids who don’t have time to hold your hand

Massive heart attacks
Triple by-passes
Victims of strokes
And dirty dealers looking to cash in on old folks

27 dollars worth of food stamps
Your government says old people don’t need to eat that much
Growing old in America should be better

Blame the baby boomers
Your time is here
But you’ve done nothing and their reality
Is now what you should fear~

Lost Ones 2

We have
Nothing to believe in
Nothing worth fighting for
Jaded and insipid
Words unworthy of speaking
Fighting without mothers
Searching for fathers
We want to be heard
But we have so little to say
Speaking meaningless minds
Too afraid to fear anything
Too intelligent to formulate plans
Too needy to need anything
Too rich to want
Too tough to fight
Too angry to yell
Too sad to cry
Too happy to smile
Too much to care
Too arrogant to aspire
We are teenage delinquents
The walking wounded
Lost and searching
For hope of a better life~

A Poet's Love Letter/Nathan

He enters as he always does
So secure and take charge
Six feet plus and he shows it all so well
And he keeps you looking
And you’re trying so hard to not let him catch you watching
He gives a smile
And it keeps you wondering
And his flow keeps the females talking
And he’s got you thinking
That maybe he’s definitely worth knowing
That you might actually have a chance for him to know your name
And he’s all this
And it goes beyond that
And he keeps you guessing
And got you going a little crazy
He makes you think
About ways to approach him
Does his girl appreciate him
If he’s hard working
If he kisses as good as he looks
He’s one of a kind from what you’ve seen
And you’re too nosy figuring out where he’s going to know where you’ve been
He has you wondering if he’s all or more than the man he seems
Patience and a friendly smile never lead anyone on
Until he smiles at you and says “It’s okay, take your time”
What you wouldn’t give to know him better
It’s not enough penning him a poet’s love letter
Because he enters as he always does
So secure and take charge
Six foot plus and he shows it all too well
The way he catches your eye
Makes you eager to follow that boy straight into hell
And he enters as he always does
So secure and uninterested
That beautiful smile that says “Thanks, but I’m taken”
But for the captivating memories, thank you always Nathan~

Insomnia Insanity

In the insanity of insomnia
Words take shape
They form a voice from inside me
And the invasion has me screaming rape

Shadows disconnect and form mysterious mysteries
Chasing me around these 10 square feet
I’m hearing voices
And seeing faces
Having hallucinations of far away places

Lost in the insomnia
Counting sheep is useless
Caginess has me pacing
And I’m making things more of a mess
The demons are chasing

And the nightmares are growing
The terrifying screams don’t carry sound
And the tears are flowing
No salvation to be found

In the insanity
I’m pleading with God
Begging for a little bit of hope
Maybe a bit of mercy on His part
A little help with the hard stuff

In the insanity of insomnia
There is no reason to sleep
No need to dream
No want to wake up
And an overwhelming urge to scream~
