Another Perfect Morning

Falling out of bed
Reading the headline

Drink Tea, cereal and a juicy fruit

Watching the clouds teasing to spit
Dressing quietly arranging lunch in my head

Locking the door
Walking, shuffling,
Looking straight ahead.

Come off the train when it starts to rain
“I have arrived” I tell myself but of course my colleagues don’t hear,
They all fell out of bed too in seems.

My employee mask is slightly loose today
Did it ever fit anyway?

At my desk writing a poem
Humming a song

Another working day has begun….

A Very British Summer

This year we grieve for the sunshine of old
Instead we're given a pouring with a rainbow

Still we raise our eyes, carefully treading through puddles and mould
Remembering our picnic and how that summer song used to go

Dam this island so far up north
It's not for folk who enjoy the outdoors - and then some

But the people who take what we are given from birth
And dig deep inside to find merriment in the Her Majesty's United Kindom

The Reflector of Noor (Light)

It shines continually over our sullen earth,
Pleasantly parading these dark spaces in a splendour of righteousness,

Seldom does it cease; save for a moment,
As soft cotton wool covers it’s glow.

Searching for love in a dense cosmic plain,
It is the sign for us to believe again

Decade

Drowning myself in contemplation
I began to drift into meditation

Sincerity
Trust
Hope
Elation

Was my upbringing bound to permutations?

Laughter fills my thoughts,

Children play hop-scotch across an eighties playground,
Full of wonderment are our childhood memories;

I still see the steam rising from the man holes of New York
Clutching at my mothers arm waiting for the train

How about the lush beach of Tobago
My skin burning from endless exploration of the great blue

Then we grow up…..

Experiencing change and then more….
Change

Start thinking from a higher angle,
Separating innocence from rationality
We consider true light, but too early for that!

Playing starts to get reckless
When you are eighteen and living away
Far too special to sleep
Definitely too cynical to speak
I own the world

Before the first heartbreak tears our insides apart
Just like those intoxicants I had last night

Letters of failure flutter through the door
Time to go home they read in invisible ink
Denial comes to an end

Pick up the phone
“Hey Mum, Dad…thought you could help me out…”

Bamboo Parade

Hey ladybird dancing through my bamboo tree
Come out and play with me
Feel the comfort of my hand
Parade your beauty freely and understand
As one creation to another joined by love
                                             No! Dont go
                                                    Oh why did I bother?

Intergalactic

Away
Far
High
Towards
Trembling
Speeding

Faster than sound
Always out of sight

Here Time is Light
Light is Time

Majesty, Folklore
Science and Fiction

Life, Death passes by

Galileo
Picard
Orwell
Einstein

God the Creator

Rear View Mirror

A shade of pantone green three sixteen
Showed up in my rear view mirror

It's my old flame again, re-creating a car chase from our favourite film

Leave me alone,
Let me drive and dream about sharing this ride with somebody new

Change your lane and stop flashing me
Pull aside and let me be

Our gear got stuck dont you remember
As I threw your ring in the Thames last December

I'll horn you!
Or drive the wrong way
Crash my heart into a passing lorry, what do you say?

Oh now you speed up
Your still so controlling!

I prefer the slow lane where theres no need for swerving.

Living on this road now for fifteen years
Finally she wakes up to all my tears.

Strangers

There were strangers at our door
Had we wanted, we could have prevented
Madness from presenting war

But they pushed as I saw,
You did your best to stop

No illusion now my dear

They are real,
Harbouring fear.

Rest for a while

Come close
I promise in Heaven we shall hide and lock the door.

Bloody Town 1191

Hers was the wishing well of magic and moonlit revelry
Joined within a mastery of domesticated wizardry
They say she was a powerful soul

His royal handsomeness mounted the vehicle of glory bellowing on thick hind legs
ready for war

Kingdoms confront years of anger, streets swamped with vigilantes as children hide.

Tears and blood mix amongst the common tax payers

"Warriors take aim"...... Jerusalem cried

Now

This day, today in every way,
Feeling, hurting like any other day,
Learning towards a new way,
Hoping and forgetting yesterday.

Creating joy!

Within, without memories drift away.

It requires meaning and strength they say,
And a humble yearning for His mercy.
