Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
How many it has sent to Hades
Despite the many aids
Lavished over the ages
Your gender does not exonerate you
Neither does the gene in you
Nor age emancipate you
Who really is to blame?
For AIDS unscrupulous fame
Rendering all efforts lame
We now live in a State of Emergency
Wholly engaged is every agency
Watch what a state of delinquency!
Oh! How bitterly I weep
When I perceived how very deep
The unchecked scourge of its whip
How many died yesterday?
How many will today?
Yet, tomorrow is another day
Maybe or maybe not we live
Hope is what makes us believe
We shall stumble on a lasting relief
You and I have a role to play
For this malady to give way
Give aids with LOVE every day.

Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
Little did he know…
That it has become a reality
That which was said about him
That his purpose will soon be unveiled
That one and only reason
That his soul is still in him
That worthy cause for which he lives
That makes him fulfill destiny
That way! This way! Which way?
That has taken an entire lifetime
That clandestine he all along admired
That was right at the bosom of his heart
Little did he know that…
That little budge had greatness in it.

Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
If I treasure treasure
I won’t be at leisure
Until there is a capture
If I treasure fixture
I will dare seizure
Until there is a full measure
If I treasure nature
I won’t be a vulture
That devours at pleasure
If I treasure culture
I won’t be a torture
That encourages displeasure
If I treasure future
I will nurture our mixture
That is the very big picture.

Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
Man was created to be free
Up or down; high or low, he is free
Whenever, wherever, he's born free.
Man has succeeded in building a prison
Fear and anxiety shrink his reason
Ideas and creativity he craves to imprison.
A few men "THINK", many don't,
A few take "RISKS", many won't
A few take "STEPS", many can't.

Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
CHANGING FACES
We with different faces
Came from different places
Experienced in diverse phases
Tendering different cases
Many are the tendencies
If we adhere to our still small voices
Proffering unparallel advises
Charging us to stick relentlessly
Many say it is heresy
Presuming we are at events’ mercy
Mother Nature is not a cheat per se
Perseverance show it we may see
Unploughed vegetation proclaim it
Virgin routes announce it
Less trodden paths advertise it
Less dared woods justify it
To become a face in this place
You need awesome grace to race
To be notable in your race as a face
Showcase your pace for an unselfish case

Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
Go gather the gifted! It rang
Groan where they hang
Gather where they greet in slang
Gag the one with a fang
Guard against the acute pang
Garner strength for a big bang
Give to the gorgeous gang...
Graciously they all sang.

Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
A legend you are, I cannot pretend
How inexplicable! Your roles ascend
Helps you lend; who can comprehend?
You fend, defend; my faults you mend
No end to bend. He is my best friend.

Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
‘twas a waylay
Caused by an affray
Oh! What a month of May
Holding at stake her heyday
Is there no other way?
As she in dismay
Ahead of her-the less trodden road lay
Came she across letters on clay
Talked about souls that went astray
As longed they in the bay
And souls willing to stay
Towards a morrow to pay
A game of choice to play
O’er all she solemnly pray
Just like an X-ray
‘twas shown her goals that are gay
She stood by the gathered hay
Palpitating impetus in the sun ray
Focus and will-power will make her say
Stay! Stay!! Never Sway!!!
She arrived at the top by the way.

Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
THE PREY AND THE BAIT
Before and beyond time
Not one man will make a case
For such a pathetic story
Owing to self bigotry
You complain by the day
You murmur by the noon
At twilight, you sob by the way
And lament at the fullness of the moon
Yet, you transfer the blame
You’ve become a prey in the game
You often pray to maim
Yet, the bait has made you lame
Left at the mercy of the hunters
Oh! You have too quickly forgotten
When you gullibly devour their meal
To you it’s just a sumptuous meal
At least not to them
You are but a chicken being bred
Their champagne to you is ‘ultimate’
At a toss, their grain is yours
Like no tomorrow you lived
But here comes the day of reckoning
You’ll not only pay through your nose
They’ll suck you like a hose
Your milk, fat and blood they’ll drain
Like forever it’s not going to rain
On you they’ll make a full gain
And you’ll dearly pay for the grain

Oluwaseun Bakare Poem
A PRAYER TO GOD ON HIGH
This pray'r said I
On my tender bed I lie
On His promises I rely
Every road I ply
Where life makes me fly
Grant me the grace til I die
My vision nev'r to die
Realistic fruition of I
I believe it's on high
So help me God on high.
