Valentine Tango In Honeymoon

Fly me to the moon
And let me play the stringed tunes,
                              The nod-nod head of a lover’s hoot
Let me dance among the stars
The tap-tap feet of a chivalrous heart...

When my gaze beheld you-my spouse
In our heart true passions doused
Draped like silk, a face with love soused
A new home in you I found.

I saw in you a beautiful wife
A flashy rectitude that brought new life,
That ravished me with sapphire eyes so fine
Fitted in your pearl socket, not of swine

You have triggered the jubilee of sunshine valentine
Now torch me with the kisses of your lip so bright
And swing me with the noontide delight I delight
Tangoing the tango of moonlight

I woo you with a honey tongue
Like silly doves we coo this carol song
In the sonority of your voice is compassion
Borne in a roomy heart for sacred fun.

… Fly us to the (honey) moon
                              Play us the bedroom tunes
                              In a solitary nook,
Let’s twirl this ballet as David in jolly mood
And wreathe in celestial honeymoon cocoon.

Prince Agba.

Dedicated to those who are facing diverse marital squalls in their homes, may God
mend your broken hearts and homes.

A Star Is Born

The sky is blue with music beats
The stars are smiling in the east
The moon is tangoing with me
And the trees are waving their leaves

The lilies are swaying in the wind
The birds are flapping their wings
The sun is standing still
For the birth of a unique Prince

The duck is cooing a coo
The drum is booming with boom
The bell is jingling melody tunes
For the dancing shoe in jolly mood

Every teeth is stable, dappled with babble
To dandle and staple the victuals rounding the table
No squabbles to dabble or dangle
This fable is not a parable to scrabble

The world is now at ease
In my mother’s little arm with peace,
That is crooning a lullaby
For her newborn baby

Now that a diamond is in the sky
My mother is no longer shy
She could join the laughter of the night
For the birth of a new life

I’m a newborn baby today
Starting life afresh, again
The smiles on a baby’s face anyway
Is an anthem, enough for a happy birthday.
     	                                        HURRAY!

The Talking Anus

We heard the voice
Of the talking anus
Beat like a light drum
Where saints were gathered.

But suddenly the stench hovered
And all hands drove close
To prevent the odour through the nose

Because the beats became filthy
All tones pitched a low key.
Everywhere boomed with bad odour
That shut every mouth like a door
At the noise of the anus that talked.

Even – the smell gave my pen
Inspiration to write this poem.

Honeymoon Cocoon

Fly me to the moon
Play us the bedroom tunes
The nod-nod head of lovers’ hoots
Let’s twirl this tango as David in jolly mood
And coil in celestial honeymoon cocoon.

The Song I Sing For Love

In these days of the dance
I will handle the bass
And strike with my finger
The strings of the guitar
Playing the tunes of love
Just to sing I love you Lord

You took me from the miry clay
You are my rock and stay
In your goodness and mercies
You showered me blessings
You school me in your kingdom college
That inspires my every knowledge

To you I give my whole heart
It will remain like that
I won’t cause heart break
For I have known how it pains
Let me be simple and plain
I want you to believe this:

I will not stir your jealousy
I will not break your heart, never
This is my song forever
This is the tune I’ll keep playing for love
Just to sing I love you Lord.

Matrimonial Romance

In my room at night
I switched off the lights
And played us cool blues
It was just your love I knew

In the bed of love with God
One needs romance that is strong
For the renewal of our strength.
For the sustenance of my breath
For me to make it in life,
I need this play with my wife
That romance that keeps marriage bed alive.

The oil of our love-bed romance
Lubricates us for better performance
The sweetness of your oily romance
Will help me not to compromise

Just with a pure romantic pace
There is release of strength and grace
To help us finish this race
For me not to feel the wounds and pains
Of the cross, and to remain ablaze

I did not worry about the thorns of the day
When I remembered the night romance we incubate,
It provides all I need
And makes my wife take good care of me.

This Romance strengthens love
And love strengthens us.
I have dressed my heart
As a comfortable mat
For this MATRIMONIAL ROMANCE.

I Need Your Heart

As for now,
I’m enshrouded in pleasurable stupidity
Not knowing my fate.
My knees quiver when you are in sight
And my heart filled with fright.
I want to be on a roll
Not looking back
But when I see your face
My heart starts knocking at my ribs,
I become confused again.

I need your heart
To be my man
It does not take my might
It is just your dear heart
To steady my nerves
And make me a man.

My nights are lonely without you
I feel so empty without you
You are the world to me
You have been placed in my heart
If you give me your heart,
I promise never to replace with another.
No matter how it hurts,
I’m going to be steadfast
I’m going to be strong
For it is just your dear heart
To save my lonely soul
For since the day I set my eyes on you
My spirit thirsts for you
And I have no place to go
That’s why I render my heart so
That sings for you
This song of love.

Heart Robbers

Heart robbers
Chasing after fine brothers,

Prior to a valentine arrival,
This elfin figure had no rival.
Hobgoblins are hobnobbing again
Playing games for a heart to sprain
Plastic surgeons with harpoons and weapons
To bludgeon emotions for coupons, sine qua non.
But this gossamer heart’s gone to bed, futon anon!

Heart robbers,
Costumed as fine brothers.

The Mosquito's Lullaby of Death

Alas, at night starts the night tune
Thought to lull me to sleep good.
A rhythm of sweet deadly melodies in my ears
Even, clapping my hands to the melody that causes tears.

I stay awake because of the songs I hear,
Sadly clapping my hands for the tunes I fear
If I do not clap hands,
I will go six feet under the land.

To my hearing the mosquito sings aplomb,
Biting and sucking my blood
When I lay down my head for rest
What a sweet voice you possess!
At times, I painfully beat and slap myself
When she begins her song of death.
