The Steward

Celestial jewel, resplendent in space—
unique to creation, now fallen from Grace.
Once mantled in radiance, sum essence of beauty,
good earth, you embraced both destiny and duty.

By nature you nuture, sustaining all life,
abundant and selfless—yet burdened with strife.
Your children defiled and helpless, they grieve—
all resources plundered, the legacy you leave.

A trusting heart hazed what your mind surely knew;
at the hand of your steward came torment on you.
Unequalled in arrogance, moral fibre of mist—
begrudging all others the right to exist.

Remnant of Genesis, what fate stalks your kind?
while honor and malice contend for your mind?
Bewildered by paradox intellect can’t abide—
knowledge without reason is the curse of your pride.

Eyes of the Cosmos gaze upon you and weep,
as apocalypse looms larger—your whirlwind to reap?
Redeeming your birthright means healing and mending.
The prodigal finds hope in a Spirit ascending.
